Après une fausse couche, je suis sortie seule de la chambre et me suis dirigée vers le bureau du médecin où Serge se trouvait. Alors que je levais la main pour frapper à la porte, j'ai entendu leur conversation. Serge : « Enlevez l'utérus de ma femme, je ne veux pas qu'elle me donne un autre enfant. » Il a saisi la femme à ses côtés et l'a conduite devant le médecin, la main caressant son ventre : « Mais l'enfant qu'elle porte, il faut absolument le préserver, c'est mon seul héritier. » Cette femme, je la connaissais bien, c'était Jessica Picard, la secrétaire de Serge depuis trois ans. Il a répété avec sérieux et anxiété ses instructions au médecin : « Utilisez les meilleurs médicaments ! Je ne tolérerai aucun accident ! » J'ai replié ma main, et tout mon corps s'est figé, comme plongé dans un abîme glacé. Je ne m'attendais pas à ce que l'homme que j'avais aimé, après avoir perdu notre enfant, prenne une décision aussi cruelle. Je ne pensais pas que ma confiance en lui se transformerait en une lame acérée, qui me poignarderait le cœur... Si l'amour a une autre forme, c'est probablement celle de laisser partir, pour lui permettre d'être heureux.
