Pirate Captain Charles Vane Novels & Stories

Charles listened attentively, his shrewd gaze never wavering as Nathan presented the details. "You know, Nathan," Charles began, his voice carrying a tone of calculated interest, "I've already instructed Victor to be prepared to assist Viaan in navigating these troubled waters." Nathan's eyebrows furrowed in surprise. "Viaan? Why would you extend a helping hand to him? Isn't he a rival?"

XAVIER’S POV A frown covered my face as the name settled into my head. “Charles is her friend,” I pointed out to her. She nodded and sniffled at the same time. “That is what baffles me. Because it means that Charles has been lying to us all. I thought he cared about the people’s happiness… but this only proves that he works for Uncle Lartes. He was his spy. His eyes were on the island, and I was so stupid I thought we had bought our way through all the sailors and none of them reported us to Lartes…”

VANE The gates of the border outpost groaned as my soldiers pulled them open, allowing my advance column to ride into the primary fortification zone. The border captain was already waiting at the bottom of the wooden watchtower. He rushed toward my stallion, stepping past the line of mounted guards with an eager expression on his face. He bowed low, his chest heaving under his scuffed iron breastplate. "Alpha Vane!" the captain called out, straightening his back. "Thank the Goddess you have arrived. I am Captain Kael. We have been holding the line here at the valley crossing, but the pressure is unrelenting."

None of the guards dared to make eye contact. "I’m giving you one chance," Asher growled, taking a heavy step forward. "Tell me who ordered it, or every captain on this shift goes into the iron cells until the truth comes out." At the far end of the line, Captain Vane – a lean, scarred warrior from the eastern border watch—swallowed hard. His shoulders were trembling slightly, his eyes darting toward the door where Elder Silas and Nora stood. I noticed the subtle look instantly. I didn't wait for Asher. I walked straight up to Captain Vane, stopping a foot away from him.

Sandra: Oh! You're a marine! That's so manly. But isn't it dangerous? Victor: Not really. It’s more paperwork than anything else. We’re on the sea most of the time, avoiding enemy waters, so it’s pretty chill. Sandra: That made you ten times more attractive to me. It’s funny, but I feel like you hold an important position, too. Victor: Yeah. I’m the captain. Sandra: That makes so much sense. You looked like you were the boss of something in your pictures. Are you a good captain, though? Take good care of your men?

“Sir, from the reports we have, she’s going to be of no use to you. Her father didn’t say such great things about her and from her actions at the auction, she’s going to be trouble.” “So what do you think?” He swallowed hard. “I think we should send her away.” Another word for kill her. Not happening. At least, not yet. “I need a release before I make any decision, Harren. Do you understand that?” His Adam's apple bobbed in his throat. He nodded. “Yes sir.” The moment he left, I scoffed. I am Charles Wade— not because it is my real name but because Charles Wade is the only man in history who has gotten away with all forms of vile things.

Beth stopped her husband, and he was no longer fair because of what happened to their son. Denise looked down and secretly rejoiced because everything that happened in the crime pointed to Vans. Kobe took a deep breath and still glared at Vans. “You can’t blame me, yes. If you’re here for your sister too, we’ll take care of her.” “I’ll take her and—” “You can’t take her with you because you’ll only hurt her!” Charles interrupted Vans’ speech. Vans angrily turned on Charles. “She is my sister, and someone is making an attempt on her life!”

"He understands supply lines, heavy armor, and standard siege tactics. What he does not understand is that the city he is marching to reclaim is already dead if we don't look past his vanguard." "You speak of doomsday while ten thousand steel-clad men march to hang us from our own balconies!" Lord Charles, a man whose wealth was tied entirely to the silver mines of the eastern ridges, pounded his fist against his armrest. "We can negotiate with Vane. He is an honorable man of the realm. We cannot negotiate with your phantom 'Sovereign' or this... this abomination you brought out of the dirt!" He pointed a trembling, ring-laden finger at Kael.

A couple of the others glanced between them, the casual comment suddenly heavier than the player had intended. Eli cleared his throat. “Food’s better than I expected.” No one immediately picked up the new thread. The pause sat there, awkward,.the unintended exposure still hanging over the table. Tyler set his glass down and didn’t let the silence stretch. “Well, if we’re ranking who almost got framed this week, at least Kane came in first. I’d have been a terrible second choice, I can’t even steal the last egg roll without getting caught.” A couple of short laughs broke the tension.

Steven said. "Let's have a toast for this great partnership." Thomas and Steven held their glasses up and drank the champagne. "This is it brother! No one can tear our family down. Not before and not now. Ater this we project we could arrange the marriage of Carter and Isabella." Thomas said. Both Thomas and Steven would even arrange the marriage of the two without even thinking about Isabella and Carter's opinion on this. From the looks, the two were still starting their relationship and seems that they both still weren't ready to make another big step on their relationship.
