“Before he passed out. He said Dain’s champion… it wasn’t a person.” The Alpha’s smile didn’t waver. It grew. “Your mate is perceptive, even in his diminished state.” He walked to a monitor and tapped a key. A grainy, black-and-white video feed filled the screen. It showed a reinforced concrete pit. And in the pit, something moved. It was massive, a hulking shape of matted fur and distorted muscle. It had too many limbs, and its head was a nightmare fusion of wolf and something prehistoric, with rows of jagged, yellowed teeth.

She shrugged slowly, leaving her words unfinished. “Dominic,” Xander murmured under his breath, "do you remember his face?” Grace looked as confused as I was with his question, but she answered still. “Very tall, dark-skinned with bright eyes. Green maybe and uh-he had this tattoo I think on his face, I’m not sure.” Xander suddenly let out a humorous small chuckle, shaking his head somewhat, “I knew that son of a bitch was still alive.” Again with the vocabulary. “The bartender told me they hire prostitutes, but I don’t think she knew about this”

Blood trickled down as I grabbed the open wound, trying to settle myself. My vision flickered, duplicate figures appearing under the severe moonlight. But I had fought worse, and this darkness did not even come close. It leapt into the air, lunging for me. I grabbed it midair, smashing it heavily on the ground. I could feel its bones breaking and the earth beneath my feet cracking. I plunged my paws into its chest, ripping out its heart, as I squeezed the life force out of it. It writhed on the floor, as its body finally collapsed.

I grew weak, drawing close to the darkness. I heard cries of my name and the wailing of sirens in a distance. Darkness finally consumed me, I had blacked out.

Chapter 1: Dysfunctional family. The darkness is nothing more than a test that God gives us, many times to overcome things and learn from it, but in the end we all carry that darkness in our hearts, we just have to decide whether to expel it or let it dwell within you. Charlotte is a girl who has been in the dark since she was born, her parents were shitty to her, she was beaten and mistreated unjustifiably simply because her parents wanted it that way, but to understand a little of this story we must return to the past.

Melvin called out to us, pleading that I forgive him. I guess he wasn't used to darkness and pain. Unfortunately for him, I did not believe he was worthy of that gesture. He was scum and should be treated as such. The lights went out, and we headed out.

His father knowing his son used to be scared of darkness, dry and vacant places. That’s how his father decided to punish that little boy, wherever he wished something from his father, he used to lock him over in a room which he named it ‘a darkroom’, he scared him way too much that whenever somebody asked him if his father is treating him badly, he could only think of his own shouts and plead to his father.
