The night had come and past—just like a distant memory in Sebastian Black’s mind as his dark, onyx eyes flutter open. He blinks against the assault of ultraviolet rays, kissing his vision with an annoying ebb of pain. His dark, Nubian complexion blesses the sunlight that trails against his half-naked body. Angled perfectly, yet lazily on the king-sized bed he lays in, after an eventful night of drinking wine and staying home. Before he can reflect on anything else, Sebastian swings his legs off to the side of the enormous bed. Gazing ahead, at the full view of Manhattan, and the reflection of himself in the glass.

It's not black, but a cream white that boosts his complexion. I am so fucked.

Charlies yells with all the other non-Russians in the restaurant waiting to off a Russian. Vitiligo is A disease that causes the loss of skin color in blotches. Vitiligo occurs when pigment-producing cells die or stop functioning. Loss of skin color can affect any part of the body, including the mouth, hair, and eyes. It may be more noticeable in people with darker skin.

“How about your dad, what do you know about him?” “Not much,” I propped myself on the bed, crossed leg while he sat on his study chair. “Mom said he was a dangerous man. A silhouette began taking shape as all of the magic particles began forming together. When the particles began to dim standing in front of them was a woman with pale/tan skin with black spots mixed in, her eyes darker than a moonless night, her pupils a lightning blue and black. Upon seeing her form everyone present lowered themselves even more, making their bodies almost hug the ground as though trying to take cover from gunfire shooting over their heads. Their foreheads not just touching the ground, but smashed into it.

My eyes were locked on the boy in the corner. He was trembling—proper, bone-deep shaking. He was wearing an oversized gray jumpsuit that hung off his weak body, his knuckles white as he gripped the handle of his mop. He looked up, and the breath left my lungs like I had been cross-checked in the throat. He was haunting. Pale skin, a dusting of light freckles across his nose, and eyes the color of a winter forest—deep, terrified green. His blond hair was messy, clinging to his forehead, and his lips were full and rosy, currently caught between his teeth as he stared at me.

Their skin had taken on a deep, unnatural darkness, as if the very blood in their bodies had turned black. The features that had once been red; lips, scars, even the smallest markings, had all darkened. It wasn’t just their faces either. Their hands, their feet, even their most private parts had lost all color, swallowed by this strange black hue. Some of the bodies were even worse off. I noticed worms crawling out from their ears, wriggling as they feasted on what was left of the flesh. The sight sent a chill down my spine, but I didn’t let it distract me. I kept making notes, writing down every observation, no matter how small.

“Come forward.” I flinched at the sound of a second pair of footsteps, the soft clink of metal brushing against stone. I hadn’t even realized someone else had been in the room. A woman stepped out from the shadows near the window, her movements calm, almost too calm. She was tall, with deep brown skin that shimmered faintly under the light seeping in from the hallway. Her hair fell in silky waves of dark purple down her back, a shade so unnatural it almost glowed, and her eyes… her eyes were pitch black, reflecting nothing.
