The Deal With Him

The Deal With Him

Amazing. I felt small as I always do, but it wasn't exactly a bad feeling. Small as in part of a greater mechanism. As in amazed by the sky. My heart squeezed the more I look and this feeling settled there spread soaking everything quickly. Melancholy very present now. 'And now the day bleeds into nightfall, and you're not here, to get me through it all-' "You're humming that stupid song again."

The Ultimate Husband

The Ultimate Husband

After listening to Pang Tong’s poem in addition to seeing how thin Yvette looked, Darryl was heartbroken and inspired to personally write a completely new poem based on Pang Tong’s and his own emotions. The first two lines, ‘Where the idle sorrow is, it fills the sea and fills our words.’ represented how depressed Darryl felt for the past few days.

I continued, keeping my eyes fixed on my pale, skinny fingers clutched around my knees, “and goes back to reading. But then there’s a tap on his window, and a raven flies in. He asks it questions, and it only answers with one word: ‘nevermore.’ He asks it about Lenore, but still its reply remains the same. “The man asks the raven if he will join Lenore in heaven when he dies, if their souls will be joined once more. At the raven’s answer – you guessed it, ‘nevermore’ – the man says, well, ‘be that our word of parting’ – he wants it to leave. It is a reminder of death, yet it sits, unmoving, watching him as he dissolves further into madness. Death remains with him, as it does with us all.” “G

I am loving this beautifully written book! The author takes the time to craft the characters and the ways the natural world mirrors this inner world. I love that this is a very different kind of Alpha!

Mafia’s Contract: Tormented III

Mafia’s Contract: Tormented III

Drops of blood made a trail out the door, and all I could master was a small whimper of raw heartache. They killed him. They killed Kory. “Now that I have your attention, come and sit. And don’t make me repeat myself, Jordan. You know I’m not that patient.” Melody's voice snatched me from my wallowing, and my jaw ticked as brakes slammed on every muscle in my body. A silent mewl started from my left, a sad, low cry of desperation. Bitterness crawled to my throat as my body obeyed. If it were up to me, I would stand right here all night long and fight to the last drop of my blood. But I was not alone. I could not be impulsive. So one foot in front of the other, I walked toward the devil in a

Empire of Desires - Tales Fantasy World of Passion 1

In which I traveled alone with my car, following a stretch, singularly lugubrious in the countryside, in which finally, It was when the shadows of the night were approaching, I found myself in sight of the melancholy Gardner temple, in which lived a very annoying and irritating lady. What I did not know, but how it happened, but at the first glance I cast from the temple, a feeling of unbearable melancholy invaded my spirit. When I say that it was unbearable, and that was the sensation that was not relieved by any of those half-pleasurable feelings, because they were poetic, with which the spirit that wandered the street usually absorbs even natural images to make them as if they were memori

THE POSSESSIVE BLOODLINE

THE POSSESSIVE BLOODLINE

I'm alone, standing on the edge of the world, with nothing but the rain and the memories to keep me company. My heart is raining too. A constant, relentless downpour of grief, regret, and despair. And I don't know if it will ever stop. The darkness in my room is a comforting blanket. I haven't bothered to turn on the lights in days. The only illumination comes from the faint glow of the city outside, painting long, distorted shadows on the walls. I'm lying on the floor, staring at the ceiling, lost in a haze of self-pity and regret. Empty bottles litter the room, a testament to my pathetic attempts to numb the pain.

They are in denial if they think otherwise, or perhaps in their mental weakness, they cannot accept other people or even themselves for what they are. My hands grasped my hair pulling them down, nausea swirled unrestrainedly in my empty stomach. My head swam with half-formed regrets. My heartfelt as if my blood had become tar as it struggled to keep a steady beat. My melancholy mood hung over me like a black cloud, raining my personal sorrow down on me as I cried and cried until I hear someone opening the big door at the corner, with tears strained face I raised my head to see a shadow walking towards me.

Alpha's Secret Mate

Alpha's Secret Mate

"A line from a poem lost during the Great Deluge, written by a human poet. Before they'd lost it all. I do not recall the original author, but in my youth in the trenches, my friend had said it to me right before they'd released the phosgene. I think he'd probably meant to recite more of it, but I never heard the rest after the explanation. He'd died almost instantaneously. We'd been very… close." Mr. Galanis adjusted his spectacles, bending to take a handful of dirt to Ma: "I like to think he meant that tragedies—just like triumphs, and heartache, and anger and fear, disgust or joy—come like rain. Sometimes they are showers, other times great tempests. But I suppose, without a bit of rain,

BOUGHT BY CRUELEST ALPHA

BOUGHT BY CRUELEST ALPHA

A part of his spirit, the part that burned so brightly, has been extinguished. He looks up at me, his eyes hollow. “Lily?” he whispers, as if waking from a long dream. I go to him, hold him. The workshop is silent. The war is over. But the twist is in the air we breathe. The shattered Muse is now part of the environment. A faint, lingering melancholy infuses everything. I look at my clumsy, joyful painting and see, in the strokes of yellow, a subtle, sorrowful undertone. I hear it in the silence after my spoon stops banging on the pot. A haunting echo.

Revenge Marriage

But I know deep inside me that it is already too late. Melek, my beloved Melek, is gone forever. Pain cuts through me like a sharp sword, tearing my soul into a thousand pieces. At that moment, the world fades around me, and there is only the dark emptiness of loss. There is no solace possible, only the devastating reality of his absence.
