“Same as you.” “Why?” he asked. “Is the kingdom at war?” “No,” she assured him. He looked relieved about that, since his father would be called into battle if a war did erupt between Frindom and another kingdom. “I was training to… kill the dragon.” It sounded ridiculous coming out of her mouth now, now that she knew the truth, that Slate was a shifter and that he hadn’t actually been killing the people he took with him all of these years. But it was the truth, and she wasn’t about to lie to Gavin, not now.

A small, almost conflicted smile touched her lips. “Bold,” she muttered. “Terrifying… but bold.” Her eyes drifted back to the diary. “I don’t know if I admire that… or if it worries me,” she added softly. “Maybe both.” Chloe slowly opens it again, curiosity pulling her forward… Alright… Next one. ______ Episode 42 – The Mechanic

He stops bugging me for a few seconds when I feel a piece of paper appear in my hands.

She licked her chapped lips, she had been drained of blood in those seconds that her heart was finally pumping new ones and circulating it through her. Her legs felt like jellies and she almost crawled to the bed and sat down on it, she placed her hand on her chest one more time and closed her eyes, God, I’m alive, I am really alive, she thought as she covered her mouth with her hand as tears blurred her vision. Her father was the scariest men she had ever seen and she hated seeing him angry but this man, the man she just saw? She would gladly watch her father angry a million times than have another scene with that monster. It was as if his eyes were an empty vacuum, no, bottomless pit of he
