That book - or the book, as they always emphasized it - was rumored to hold all the details of their pack history, all the genealogy charts of the genealogy and history of her pack. It is scary.” Bree snuck at the rolling landscape and saw the scary animal with sharp teeth sneering at her, so she pretended to look forward and saw her parents exchange a look.

"You think you'd make it a kilometer from here while on foot?" I straighten up, the hairs at the back of my neck standing up "I did. I was out there all day and all night and not once did..." I trail off because what he's saying is just absurd. Except maybe it's not. I remember wondering how I'd made it through the night without getting attacked. Not just by wild animals but also by rogues or thieves. I'm not dumb. This far north, there have to be a few polar bears. Did I really survive all day and night without bumping into one or did someone take them out without my knowledge? Now that I think about it, it's ridiculous how smooth my journey was.
