It must’ve been correct because l’Airone’s face lit up, and she clapped her hands.
Mage Jaye said, “Make the heron into a pony, please.”
I had been expecting her to ask for a bluejaye, not a pony, but I obliged. A white pony, complete with saddle, stood in front of us, letting out a loud whiny.
“How about a donkey?” Swan requested.
Again, the animal form shifted to create a donkey, crying, “Hee haw, hee haw!” I put a pack and a blanket on its back, like I’d seen in some old western movies.
