Ryder follows more slowly, his body language calmer, but his gaze flicks to me like a silent question: Is she serious?
I answer him with a tiny nod.
Leo’s gaze never leaves Poppy. “No,” he says, like he can rewrite reality with one word. “Absolutely not.”
