Chapter 144: Holy Shit! It was noon the following day before Poppy finally rolled out of bed. She felt vaguely guilty for having slept so late. But there was nowhere she had to be, so why not take advantage of it while she could? She'd be starting morning shifts at the coffee shop soon enough. Barefoot and wearing the oversized Columbia T-shirt she'd slept in the night before, she stood staring into the refrigerator. Being that it was afternoon, she couldn't decide if she wanted breakfast or lunch.

Poppy responded after hearing the chef's voice say hello. She immediately returned the intercom to its original position, without waiting for an answer. Her gaze stayed on Robin, who opened his mouth slightly. ‘Is Mr. Robin asleep again?’ Poppy tiptoed so that her footsteps could not be heard. She wanted to go back to bed and ensure Robin's consciousness. She slowly reached onto the bed. She heard Robin's regular coarse breathing sound, which indicated that he was completely asleep. “You must be very tired—” Poppy nearly screamed when Robin abruptly pulled her. He effortlessly drew her into his arms.

Poppy teases, reaching over to brush his hair back from his forehead. He yawns wide enough to show every little tooth, then blinks up at me. “Can I have pancakes?” “Pancakes?” I echo, feigning shock. “That’s a big request for someone who’s barely awake.” He shrugs, eyes already drooping again. “I like making them.” “Yeah,” I whisper, kissing the top of his head. “That’s reason enough, baby.” Poppy watches us, her expression soft but full of something fierce beneath it. “We’re going to be okay, aren’t we?” she asks quietly.

They're just fine. I must have fallen asleep because when I do wake up, it's still nighttime, and there's a commotion outside the bedroom door. Rubbing the sleep from my eyes, I sat up. Poppy's head jerked up, her tiny ears perking at the sound. "You think that's Daddy, Poppy?" I asked quietly.

“Now crawl to every guy here and introduce yourself properly. Tell them your rule.” There were only three other men in the room with him.
