We’re both dressed in comfortable clothing as I take her hand and walk to the edge of the forest.
“I’m nervous,” she says, squeezing my hand. “It’s going to hurt, right?”
“You’ve fought me before and you’re asking if shifting will hurt?” I say, chuckling. “It’s a comfortable pain you get used to, don’t worry.”
