“We don’t know what it can do.” I nodded, reaching out cautiously. My fingers brushed against the stone, and a surge of energy shot through me, making my body tense. “Lola!” Sarah called, worry evident in her voice. “I’m fine,” I said, pulling my hand back. “But this thing is powerful. We need to get it out of here.” Aaron grabbed a cloth from his pack, wrapping it around the Heartstone before lifting it off the pedestal. The moment he did, the ground beneath us began to shake.

His eyes flick to my hand. “Mika gave me this,” I continued, pulling out the small, faintly glowing stone. It’s smooth, warm to the touch, pulsing gently like a sleeping heartbeat. “It’s an unlinking stone.” His breath catches. “She said,” I go on, “..it allows temporary separation. Up to one day. Any longer and…” I swallow. “It gets dangerous.” Johanis stares at the stone like it might explode. “Why would she give you that?” he asks slowly.

I take a step back. “Do you know what a siphoning stone is?” He takes a step forward, away from the destroyed tree line. “It’s a stone mages use when they need to move magic power from one place to another. Kind of like a USB cord.” He fishes something from this back pocket. It’s a flat rock with a deep carving of some rune I don’t recognize. But I can feel it. That thing holds my magic power and not just that, it resonates with me.

"This black stone is an energy tracker," he explained, his voice dripping with excitement. "It comes alive if she's in the vicinity." He held out the stone, and I could feel its dark power radiating towards me. "She's close by, probably hiding, thinking she can escape me." A cruel smile spread across his face. It is a common stone all over the Svetlana and many cultivators use it. However, Crystal Stone had levels too and the higher the level, the more you can reach the person your contacting. Remembering this, Chase pulled out the fiery red spiritual stone. "You came here with just one spiritual stone?" Scott said, looking at the stone in Chase’s hand with disbelief. "Can't I buy more with money?" Chase asked, feeling awkward. "Normally, yes. They cost about a million per stone, but here, among all these cultivators and at an auction, no one will sell them to you," Scott replied.
