“That's odd.” An unknown number… Spam, probably, or else some vendor with deals. I thumbed the message open and it read. “We know your secret.” The sentence sat there, practically glaring back at me. My first reaction was a reflexive roll of the eyes. Pranks happened. People with too much time on their hands enjoyed playing pranks. I almost set the phone down and dragged my cardigan on when another message came. This time it was an image. My fingers hovered, reluctant as I opened it.

Who could be texting me this late at night? I glance at my cellphone and notice a few text messages. Tapping on the message app, a smiling selfie of Mario immediately pops up. However, my eyes widen in disgust as I realize the message contains a picture of an erect dick. It’s undoubtedly Mario’s, and the accompanying text reads, “See how much I miss you, Princess!” Below the gross image, there’s a video. I know I shouldn’t, but curiosity gets the better of me, and I reluctantly play it.

I didn't reply, but I received another text from the same number. People nowadays do nothing but deceive! From: +639********* Hey! That's all it said in the text, so I was puzzled. Then Drake suddenly popped into my mind. Knowing Drake, he loves to tease. Maybe it's his new number and he just wants to mess with me. Oh well, I knew it! He loves to tease me!

It was a text from an unsaved contact. “Hi, Jay. It's me, Smart. I got your number from Richard. I apologize for not seeking your permission before sending the message. I understand if you're angry with me. If you're not, can I call you? There's something urgent I need to discuss with you. Please, I need your help. You're the only one I can think of at the moment.” I frowned at the text. Smart?

Two unread messages. The first text is nothing to worry about but the second is confusing. C: Help! That’s all. Nothing more. Is this a sick joke? Wait! I gasp and clap a hand over my mouth. Is he okay? “What is it?” Amelia mutters. I push the phone towards her. She sighs. “What if it’s a prank?” “What if it’s not a prank?” My heart races like a bulldog and my foot drums on the floor. Amelia beckons on a waiter. “What if he’s in trouble?”

Nothing. Then‌ one text flashes up fro‍m an‍ unknown number. > “You’ve bee⁠n played. C⁠heck your emai‍l before midnight.” ⁠ For a secon‌d‍, I think i⁠t’s Cass⁠andra taunt⁠ing me again. But‍ the sender ID is sc‌rambled, the tone… differen⁠t. Urgent. I open my laptop⁠ rig‌ht t‌here in⁠ the‌ parking l⁠ot, the screen‍ fogging‍ from my breath.‌

I still can't believe--- I'm seriously getting cornier---you know more corny, like---tss whatever you guys don't get my joke anyway. Suddenly the music "Don't Cha" by Pussycat Dolls bombarded in the air as my phone vibrates in my pocket. I flinched as I heard it. What if I was on a public place?! What the fudge. The horror. I groaned as I realized that I had been victimized again by the great prankster---my girlfriend---Daniella Sparks. I can already imagine her evil laugh and how her eyes would blaze with a michievous hint in it. I just quickly answered it so it'll stop ringing.
