~Lianna Black~ Since it was cold outside, I wore three layers of clothing. It was still freezing, but I wasn’t complaining. I’d take any chance to get out of the palace, even if there was a storm. I frowned before pointing at a particular picture. "I know that cartoon," I mumbled and Faye turned so she could see what I pointed at. "Oooo that's Shrek. It's one of my favorites," she said with a smile. "Yeah, it was mine too. I remember that green guy... he was supposed to save a princess. I know her name was Fiona because I found it weird. Then the donkey was my favorite character," I commented. I had to admit, my memories of life before the "safe house" were fuzzy at best. I didn't dwell on them much before because while I was trying to survive, they seemed irrelevant. Faye's eyes seemed to brighten as I spoke and her smile just got bigger.

I push up onto my toes, trying and failing to reach the container. “I don’t know whether to be sorry for King Nolan or to see this as an opportunity,” a woman’s voice says from outside the office pantry. I freeze at the mention of King Nolan and find myself holding my breath so I can hear their next words. “His daughter just got married, and there’s a rumor going around that his ex-wife didn’t even show up,” a different woman’s voice says.
