The words leave automatically before my brain catches up, my voice sounding small, almost fragile. Then I stop. My entire body goes rigid, every muscle locking in place. Princess. The word echoes inside my head. Princess. Princess. Slowly. Very slowly. I look at the doctor. "Did you just call me princess?" My voice cracks halfway through the sentence, pathetic and weak. The doctor stares at me, confusion written all over his face. "Yes?" His brows furrow. "Princess Ravelle." My stomach drops, a cold pit opening in my gut. The room spins, the edges of my vision blurring. What?

I had heard rumors about a beautiful female doctor in our hospital's urology department named Jade Clemens. It was said her face had an angelic innocence, yet her figure sparked imagination. Many male doctors were eager to meet her; some even went directly to the urology clinic to register as her patients. The doctors from the anesthesiology department where I worked often mentioned her, joking that they would make appointments with her someday to get a "thorough examination". I told them not to go too far and to respect her profession, but they replied, "The lady herself doesn't mind, so why are you so concerned?"

Her belly was still flat as no bump was evident yet and she knew that she didn’t in any way look pregnant. Her interview had gone well and she had gotten the job but for the final formalities she was directed to the in-house clinic for a routine check up as per the regulations of the company, it was at the clinic that they had found that she was pregnant and hence her appointment terminated as it was in the rules and regulations that female staff weren't allowed to get pregnant or sick for maternity leave until they have worked with the firm for a year or more.

Alessandra asked a series of questions in one go. "Calm down,miss"The doctor said as the corner of his lips curved into a smile. Alessandra wasn't affected by how the doctor addressed her because she was too worried about her mate at the moment. "The prince is stable now."The doctor nodded his head as if supporting his own words. "He's only in a temporary coma.I'm sure he'll wake up soon."He explained briefly so that Alessandra could understand better. "Am I allowed to go inside?"She asked with a wiggled brow as she peeked inside the room.

It was me, myself and I. “I am Princess Zisealer of the dragon people and I have recently mated with royal beta Brum.” Look at me trying to cling onto the little title I had, reminding me of what I had lost— a home, family and I felt as if I had lost my dignity too. “We are pleased to have you Princess Zisealer, where is beta Brum?” The king asked, my heart drumming harder, my hands clenched into fists at my sides. It took everything in me not to shake so bad.

Doctor Jade examined the prince then he took a deep breath, after that he drank the herbal concoction into the prince's mouth. Not long after Prince Nicholas realized, slowly his eyes opened and then he stared at the ceiling of the room. Doctor jade smiled faintly when he saw that the prince had woken up. "Prince, thank goodness you are awake. How do you feel now?" asked the doctor, he stared intensely at the handsome and charming young man. Hearing someone ask him, the prince turned to the doctor and looked at him with a surprised look, "Who are you?" Doctor Jade frowned, "I am the palace doctor, Doctor Jade. Don't you know me?"

Everyone moves out of my way with a soft greeting of 'princess'. I stalk across the lawns, disregarding the winding pathways. Jace seems uncomfortable from the blatant disregard for social etiquette rules but I don't care. I walk into the medical building and stop at the front desk. The cute little receptionist looks flustered at my presence. "Princess." She stutters out. "Wha…" "Who's the head doctor." I cut her off and lean on the desk. "That would be me." A tall arrogant looking man answers. "And you are?" He pinches his pompous face at me appearance.

The doctor was examining her pulse and everyone was patiently waiting for him to say something. Ranvijay went to stand quietly in a corner, hopefully trying to be invisible to others. This was his fault. It happened because he wasn’t vigilant enough. The wounded princess was one of his many failures tonight. He had miscalculated everything and that led to the accident. If only he wasn’t so… “Princess is fine.” The doctor’s voice penetrated the thick fog of remorse in his mind and he blinked into the moment. “She is just a little shocked. Nothing to be worried about. I have given her the painkiller. She will be up in an hour.”
