Nova took a step to the side as she waited for him to lead the way, and as he passed her, she dipped her hand inside her robe and fished out a note with the remote to Miras' shackles. She placed them discretely on a shelf next to the door for the Alpha King to access. After Nova had exited the room, the Alpha King looked at Mira with a puzzled expression smeared across his face. "What are you waiting for?" She asked him as her gaze shifted toward the shelf.

We all waited quietly for Mira to speak. Mira dabbed the sweat from her brow and used some unfamiliar tools to check on me. The equipment filled half the room, spilling out into the reception area. After her examination, she looked up, a wide grin spreading across her face. "I can confidently say, Her Highness, the Princess, is in perfect health! Your awakening must’ve happened. Have you met your wolf yet?" I gave a small nod. "Her name is Juniper. She’s a kind and understanding wolf."

"Yes, I know her. She is a very good woman." I cleared my throat again, not knowing where this conversation was leading me. Mirra picked up my plat and placed it on top of a larger tray. Mira said rhetorically as Ophelia rolled her eyes. The room could be read... they were just a group of people who hated themselves but came today to plan another's downfall. Mira, daughter of Michela and next in line to the throne, had always hated Ophelia, but because she also needed to teach Lilith a lesson, that was the main reason she stuck her ass down the chair. She had no business with the Tribrid because she knew she was never going to get to her. Mira shook her head, she started shaking in fear but it's obvious she's playing along with her -such a smart girl, she got her act. "King Hills, stop the queen" she pleaded with Hills. He turned to face Regina, but couldn't utter a word when he met her gaze and he quickly looked away, rasing his hands in surrender. "You're on your own, princess" he said. Mira quickly jumped off the chair and knelt down, bowing and laying her hands on the ground. "I'm sorry, my queen, I promise I'll never do it again" She raised her head, opened her mouth and let out a loud but fake cry, she started wiping off her imaginary tears.

“Mira, you always worry too much. I am not a queen. Stop calling me highness.” “You are more than queen,” Mira said boldly. “You are Luna in my eyes. And in the eyes of the Moon.” Elara’s cheeks warmed. She shook her head and picked a grape. “You and your sweet words. One day people will hear you and call you foolish.” “Then let them call me foolish,” Mira said, smiling wide. “I don’t care. I only know what I see. And what I see is light.” Elara chuckled. For a moment, the room felt safe. The weight of the pack, Clara’s shadow, the whispers—all of it felt far away. She leaned back and let herself enjoy the small peace.

“Wait, wait, wait,” said the woman sitting across from Knox, barely able to contain her laughter. “He kissed her hand?” Her name was Mira, one of the few people in the palace who could get away with teasing the king without losing her head. She was the palace’s head strategist and a close ally to Alaric, though she often acted more like a sister than a subordinate. “Oh, it gets better,” Knox said, leaning back in his chair. “He called her my Luna like he was in some kind of romance novel.”
