Bailey's pov I had successfully avoided Kaleb for the first half of the day and tried my best to act normal in Mira's presence. Things would've been easier if I had not opened my legs for her brother. "We need to get him back." Mira grumble and she slammed her locker close with a bit more force than necessary. My brows wrinkle, my eyes drifting over to her. "Get who back?" Mira rolled her eyes and turned around to plaster her back to the locker. "The boogeyman."

She raised a hand—and three of her mirror copies lunged forward. Carl intercepted one, blade humming. Ophelia ducked the second, slamming her palm against its head and activating her memory disruptor. Tobias scrambled for cover, launching a neuro-blast that flickered through the air like lightning. But Mira didn’t move. She just watched. And smiled. “You’re not ready for what’s coming,” she said. “None of you are.” Then her body turned to light—and vanished. The remaining mirror copies fell to the ground like broken puppets.

Mira stood protectively in front of Aurelia, her body positioned like a shield between her best friend and Ronan. Her arms were crossed tightly over her chest, her eyes blazing with defiance despite the fear flickering underneath. “Stay away from her,” Mira said, her voice firm and unwavering as she glared at Ronan. Kai stepped forward, his brow furrowed in confusion. “Baby, what’s the problem here?” he asked, trying to understand the sudden wall of protection Mira had thrown up against Ronan. He reached out a hand toward her, but Mira didn’t budge.

Like Mira wasn’t even worth the effort. Mira’s eyes stretched wide in disbelief, in outrage, in humiliation. “You…” she snarled through clenched teeth as she shoved harder, sparks exploding. “...will…” Anana’s arms steadied even more, holding the lock with serene, icy control. “...FIGHT…” Mira roared, throwing everything she had. “ME!!!” Mira stepped backwards with a scream that ripped straight from the depths of her fury. A sound sharpened by hatred, desperation, and bruised pride.

Mira cries out as Nengi deepens her nails into Mira's skin since she notices that her aura does not affect Mira. "You are seriously hurting me," cries Mira. "You deserve it…..haha" Nengi mischievously spits at her. "Please……" Mira pleads as a tear slides down her cheeks, she fights to keep it in check. Nengi smirks at her as she notices the tears in her eyes. "What do you need from me?" groans Mira in pain. "I need you to vanish into the thin air……. I want you…… she didn't finish as an intoxicating tone interrupted her. Mira was in pain because she didn't notice the person behind them.

The girl flinched but held her ground, hands raised to show she meant no harm. “I'm not here to fight,” she said quickly. “My name is Mira. I… I felt what happened. What you became. I had to come.” I lowered my hands, my enhanced senses detecting no deception from her. “I'm Aria. These are my mates, Kane and Zane. How did you find us?” “I followed the energy signature. I've never felt anything like it.” Mira's eyes filled with tears. “I thought I was the only one who was… different. Who didn't fit anywhere.”

Kael looked toward Mira, who stood at the edge of the camp studying the sky. “Do you trust her?” he asked. Luna followed his gaze. “I don’t know yet.” “She just appeared out of nowhere.” Kael nodded. “Exactly.” Before Luna could respond, Mira walked toward them. Her silver hair moved gently in the wind, and the glowing symbols on her arms shimmered faintly. “You’re worried,” she said softly. Luna raised an eyebrow. “You can read minds too?” Mira shook her head. “No. But I can read the moons.”

Mira looked sympathetically at me. “You must have somebody stronger than they are,” she said. I frowned. “Is that even possible?” She did not respond on the spot. Rather, she was tapping her fingers on the table as though she was thinking. Then she said, “There may be one person.” I lifted my head. “Who?” Mira hesitated for a second. “Lucian Silverfang.” The name meant nothing to me. “Who is that?” I asked. Mira threw back her chair.
