“Slack away,” I said, just because I could say shit like that now. “Working here is overrated anyway. Trust me. You don’t want to be here long term.”
Adam something-or-other grinned and clapped me on the shoulder. “You would know, right? No offence, bro, but I can’t wait until I can walk away too.”
“None taken,” I assured him. “I know this place feels like a fucking prison most days.”
New guy nodded enthusiastically. “Even my assistant gave me a look like she wanted to chain me to my desk when I went to take a piss the other day.”
