Pagkamuhi ang nararamdaman niya kay Lyka ngunit mahahaluhan ito ng pagmamahal na hindi niya kayang aminin at tanggapin. Ganun din si Lyka na labis ang poot kay Vladimir dahil sa ginagawa nitong pagpapahirap sa kanya lalo na sa kanyang trabaho. Sa pagkamatay ng ama ni Vladimir ay lalo siyang mamumuhi kay Lyka dahil sa paglilihim nito ng sakit ng ama. Malaking halaga ng kayamanan ang iiwan niya kay Lyka na labis na ikinagalit ni Vladimir. Makukuha lamang ni Vladimir at Lyka ang naiwan na kayamanan ni Henry sa kondisyon ni Henry na kailangan nilang magpakasal at mag sama bilang mag asawa sa loob ng limang taon. Isang pagsasama na nababalot ng pag-ibig at labis na pagkamuhi
