As she focused her attention, the water seemed to whisper ancient secrets, and the proverbs began to form in her mind. The first proverb materialized in Latin: “Aquila altissimus habet caducum.” The seer translated, “The highest eagle has the longest fall.” Agnes pondered the meaning of the proverb. It seemed to speak of the vulnerability that even the mightiest possess, reminding her that power and strength could be fleeting and deceptive.
