Luca, hearing the stomping steps following him, turned around slowly and looked at me mockingly, shoving his hands in his hoodie pockets. “What did you say?” I asked. “You seem like someone who is a sucker for punishment,” he mocked, stepping closer with a sneer. “For the last time, bitch… fuck off!” Bitch? Who does this animal think he is?! Before I knew it, my arm moved of its own accord, swinging hard and fast, my fist smashing into his jaw with a force I didn’t realize I possessed. His head snapped to the side, and he staggered back, dazed.

Luca’s POV I stormed into the room, my face red with rage, my eyes blazing with fury. “You told me it was a sure thing!” I roared, slamming my fist on the table. “You fucking told me Dominic would be eliminated!” My men bowed before me, knowing better than to disobey me when I was in a rage. “I-I’m sorry, sir,” one of them stammered. “We didn't expect him to…” My anger boiled over, and I cut off the man’s words with a swift swipe of my hand. “Enough!” I roared. “I would rather not hear your excuses. I want to know what we can do to take down Dominic. Now.”

I awaited for any of them to say something. “What’s the noise all about? Why did you leave me like that, son? We were having an important conversation,” Tata Mama said. “Something came up, Mama. A rogue entered our pack with the intention of harming my mate,” Luca defended. Angelo, with his hands folded, made a move to talk. “Off course, bro. “What do you know that can help me? If you don’t know anything like that then get out of my face,” Luca barked out. He was angry and couldn’t keep his anger in check. His tie was slightly crooked. It was a small detail, almost invisible, yet it told me everything about the storm inside him. “He is angry,” I said softly while resting my chin against my knuckles.
