Kennedy POV. The weather was bad, but I needed to get that new book, it's Robert birthday gift, who'd knew a grown up man would kill for the newest werewolf love book. I got into my car, drove carefully toward the local book store, they had the new book reserved for me. It was supposed to one quick drive, until I walked into the library. A girl was sitting on a bean bag, her blond hair was covering her eyes with overgrown bangs, she tried to huff them away from her face but to no use. She looked young, maybe she's just here with her parents, looking down at the book she had in her hands it was a kids story. Does she read for the local kids? Or is it just for her?

“Shopia, what are you doing?” The little girl raised her face and smiled sweetly while raising her rabbit doll. “I'm playing with Bunny, Grandpa. Bunny is having a picnic in the garden.” Adam smiled slightly. "A picnic, huh? Does Bunny like tea or milk?” Shopia seemed to think for a moment, then answered firmly, "Milk! Bunny likes chocolate milk.” Adam nodded while adjusting his position on the wooden bench. The afternoon breeze blew gently, carrying the scent of moist soil and fragrant roses growing around the garden. He saw the green grass stretching out wide, with a few small birds hopping between the bushes. The atmosphere felt so peaceful.

"You won't need to go to school anymore. You can just stay home and be your sister's maid. Take good care of her." "Okay." I nodded obediently, playing along. As we talked, Luna started selecting the first batch of bunny girls for tonight. She glanced at the fading red hives still covering my skin and looked away in disgust. She pointed at Drew and a few other girls. "You girls, come with me." Before leaving, Drew turned back and shot me a smug look. "Be a good little sister and wait for the good news." My chest tightened. Poor Drew had no idea what she was walking into.

It’s true.” I was still laughing. “Cute is for puppies and babies,” he said, smiling, before his face grew more serious. “Not for a grown-up man who’s been dying to kiss you.” The laughter died in my throat at his confession. He looked at me with an intense gaze that made it hard to swallow. “Can I kiss you, Mel?” I parted my lips, my mind spinning. If I were a normal girl, I would be over the moon, saying yes without hesitation. Derek was every girl's dream… he was kind, safe, and looked at me like I was his whole world.

It's just a game. It wasn't just a game, it was my pride and my ego, my status. I wasn't the kind of guy who failed. I am still staring at my reflection when I heard the click of a stall door opening behind me. I look up. Liam steps out of the stall, beside him is a boy I have never seen before, about thirteen years old, if I am to guess. His expression and the way he is toying with the Rubik's cube in his hand gives me the faint notion that that boy is autistic.

But as some of the girls sidled up to me, twirling their hair, my irritation grew. Alyssa touches the book and immediately it's colour became brighter and it glimmered like a burning lamp, with confidence she opened the pages and the sightseeing was frightening pictures of the past beast and burnt witches and so many more. "Oh my Gosh!" Alyssa exclaimed after seeing all the things on a particular page.

I only read them in books, novels, stories, my mother whispered to me every night before bed, and it wasn't this terrifying when she spoke about them to me. From what she said, she told me they were lovely creatures who were willing to do anything for their mate, Pack, and loved ones. They were protective, agile, intelligent, and knew perfectly when to use their strength, EQ, or their IQ. The stories my mom read about them made me love them so much that I made a wish to God on one of my little birthdays as I blew out the candle on my cake. I wished to find a wolf who would love and protect me from the kids in my class who always bullied me.
