“This isn’t fair,” Liam said, voice low.
“Nothing about this is,” Noah replied.
For a moment, neither spoke. Just the rain and their breathing, synced in uneven rhythm.
Then Noah’s voice dropped, rough and quiet. “You can keep saying no. But you keep looking at me like you already said yes.”
