I snapped, my voice slicing through the heavy air like a blade.
The Queen didn’t answer right away. Instead, she stepped forward—slow, deliberate, like a predator testing the edge of mercy.
I instinctively moved back, one step, then another, until my spine brushed the cold wall behind me.
She stopped just short of me, the space between us charged like lightning right before it struck.
Then, through clenched teeth, her voice came low, sharp, and burning with barely restrained fury.
