Quicksand Novels & Stories

It cracked sharply beneath me. Mirror shards. Everywhere. “What even is this,” I muttered. “Who brings a mirror down here? Why smash it? It is not normal.” I crouched and scooped up black dust coating the ground. The sulfuric smell burned my nose. “Volcanic sand,” I said. “In an underground city in Kapadokya. How would Bengü even get this in here? Sneak in a tractor at night?” I let the sand fall. “This whole scene is nonsense.”

“Pretty much, I’m sad to say. They might survive a little white as its slave, but ultimately the wight is out for blood.” “Sadly, mom means out for blood in the literal sense, not the figurative.” Sapphire added that delightfully twisted fact. “We’ll have to clean up two things at once with this one. Remember, we don’t have much to go on. What we took on was a slave of a wight who was on its last legs. Be mindful of these things because they have a poison or some type of neurotoxin. I forget the scientific name, but the slaves end up full of something they call grave sand. It’s a sandy substance that’s created inside the animated corpse as it breaks down during rot.

However, he had no choice but to accept his situation after witnessing how powerful Chase was. He used the excuse of scouting the area while feeling disgruntled about it. That was when he suddenly noticed something strange. "Look at that quicksand!" Norm pointed to the gravel, which looked like a long snake moving toward them. He had no idea of sand people's existence, and could only determine it to be quicksand based on ordinary facts. Chase and the others laughed when they saw his reaction. Norm had no idea what was going on. "What's wrong? Aren't we moving away? Quicksand is pretty dangerous."

Jules:1, Venus: 1 billion. Would he make it home this night? Or would someone do him a favor and end his misery?

The sand whirlpool submerged them into the sand like it was water. After that, he sank deeper and deeper until he fell down on the solid ground. When he raised his head, the sand had already closed above him. The quicksand brought them into a hallway of a dungeon lighted up by torches hanging on the wall. He immediately understood that Veronica had separated them. The witch would eliminate his servants one by one. The situation would leave Yric alone where no one could help him.

He could not help but be stunned. That gray fog was actually a cloud of dust and rock debris. As for where these sand and rocks came from... they were from the constantly collapsing buildings—there seemed to be an earthquake in the outermost part of the Sea of Opulent Buildings. Pavilions and deity statues were tumbling continuously. The earth had cracked open. One could faintly see scarlet lava gushing out from the numerous fissures and abysses in the earth. There were creatures on the streets who were wailing mournfully. They were soon engulfed by the massive cracks opening up in the earth.

That's how most of the stories end. But since I left the Wildlands, there has been only this endless trudging, slogging, tramping, clumping. And sand. So much sand. It's like a fine mist that you don't even notice is inside your ears, your nose, crusting your eyelashes, coating your teeth and your tongue, until you try to take a sip of water and swallow a mouthful of sand. Or wipe your face and fine grains of sand get in your eyes and sting and don't come out until you've wasted water rinsing them out.

She stopped, raised her hand to the sky, jumped on her lightning bolt, and in a flash, she's gone. It's about a 20-minute walk back on the path I chose; I hadn't realized we'd chased Steve this far out, what I wouldn't give to all four-paw-wolf-drive right now. This LA bay mud is close to quicksand, and I go a little deeper with every step. Zeek is laughing at the sloshing sounds my legs are making, knowing he could do better. My eyes rolled as I lifted and sank into another step. 'Good thing we are not trying to sneak up on someone.'

The car would have sunk right in if they had not been fully prepared. Both she and Cole would have been buried alive. "I feel something is wrong. There is too much quicksand around Sandy Town." Helma said hoarsely. This convinced Helma that the old site of that small country must be nearby. Although the people in Sandy Town lived on the edge of the desert, they were deathly afraid of this desert. Perhaps this was the reason. Quicksand was generally more terrifying than a bog. If a person got caught in a bog, they would just be stuck in place, but once caught in quicksand, they would be swept sever

He looked at Xander instead and saw the third prince looking confused as well. “No... I was simply caught... unprepared...” he paused. “Haven’t we had this conversation before?” he asked instead. “I was thinking the same thing, so your next move is...” Johan looked at the ground he was standing on, sure enough, he felt the slight tremors and quickly leapt in the air, as the ground he stood on turned to quicksand. “Quagmire!” the prince shouted. Several students were caught in the thick mud instead as the area surrounding them turned into a bog.
