“Why?” my dad asked. “Am I hurting your feelings, jerk?” he laughed like a villain, which sort of suits my father in that atmosphere. “Tell me which part you didn’t like. Even if you don’t like it, you can’t change that. Your parents were murderers and bloody rapists, and you are their sons. I don’t expect anything less from you. Go ahead, kill someone; that’s in your blood, after all, isn’t it?”
“Honey, I think you have enough to drink for the night.” My mum pulled away the wine glass from my father. “Relax, honey.” She was hesitant, and so was I.
