Divorced by the Hockey Captain
I crouched down slowly, resting one hand on the desk to support my belly, meeting him at eye level.
"Just having a bad day, Yoshua," I admitted softly, offering him a small, tired smile. "Just a really tough day."
Yoshua didn't say anything for a long moment. Then, his small, warm hand reached out and wrapped around two of my fingers, giving them a firm, deliberate squeeze.
"Bad days end," he said plainly.
The sheer, innocent simplicity of those three words struck me like a physical blow. A sudden, sharp ache bloomed behind my eyes, threatening to crack my numb composure wide open.
