The packhouse was quiet this late at night. Most of the pack had already gone to sleep, but Zoe walked down the hallway toward Zack’s room. Her heart beat a little faster with every step. She wasn’t sure what she expected: an explanation, an apology, something. She reached his door and just as she was about to knock, the door opened. Zoe froze, and Kelly stepped out, wearing nothing but Zack’s shirt.

Suddenly the small black room with the dim lights appeared to him as the airless box it was, and he wondered if he was supposed to leave now or stay put. Unsure, hot and frustrated, he downed his drink in a few swallows and then rubbed the damp glass over his forehead to cool himself off. A second later the door opened, and Kelly stepped in and closed it behind her. She was wearing a white robe and the black boots, and when she let the robe fall open, he saw that she was still naked beneath it. He's sneakily written and had someone deliver them to me by placing it under my office door. The first said that he was sorry and he's already searching for the traitors.

The door creaked as I pushed it open, and what I saw made my breath catch in my throat. Kelly sat perched on the countertop of the sink, Ryatt standing between her legs. Their lips were locked in a heated kiss, his hands roaming her body while hers fumbled with his belt. The air left my lungs in a trembling gasp. My grip on the doorknob faltered, and I stumbled back, tears blurring my vision. The sound of my movement snapped Ryatt's head up, his eyes widening in panic as he spotted me.
