I’m sure you have heard of a book called ‘Behind closed doors?” Rachel asks Tay and his mouth half opens.

Seeing this, Oliver grinned and said, “I take it you’re a regular here.” “She’s one of our favorites,” Scott said with a flirty tone that Eliza recognized as the one he used for men he found attractive. “Although, she’s been missed lately.” Using dramatic flair that only Scott could pull off, he tapped her on the shoulder with his index finger and added, “Naughty girl. Where have you been?” “I told you that I moved home with my parents,” she replied with a grin. She found her friendly barista to be a delightful companion, even if he was flirting with her coffee date.

Hence, she put it back in its spot among other dusty books and walked to another shelf. She came across a couple of other books but she knew none of them will give her any information on what she sought after; ‘Moon Goddess' Mate’ by U. Tipper, ‘The Hybrid's special Guide’ by L. O. Klark, ‘Tribid Greed’ by Steve Reynolds, and a lot of other books.

The secretary, Julie, showed the product launch event of the competing company Beauty Corporation. "Who dares to betray us?" Jessica woke up and stood up. The woman looked furious. Then she glared at the bodyguard who had always been loyal to her. Then said, "Leon!"

An excellent one to be precise and that was what had kept him employed. In the seat beside him was a woman. She had long, blonde hair that when allowed to move with gravity, neared her waist. She was dressed in a silvery gown and looked like a queen. What she lacked though, was a crown on her head and three dozen guards watching her every step. She was Sarah, Harold's stepmother. In the seats behind the driver and Sarah was Harold and someone who was bound to make his next two years in Golden Lake University more miserable; Maximus (or Max for short).

Chapter 62 Author’s Pov Rachel had never been one to back away from a challenge, but lately, her mind had been consumed with more than just business. The world had always seemed clear to her, but now, her powers,her ability to see people’s desires and understand their deepest thoughts,had become sharper, more defined. She no longer had to guess at what people wanted. It was like stepping into their minds, understanding their needs before they even spoke them. And with every new revelation, every new insight, it felt as though she was gaining more control over the world around her.

Margaret turned and walked away. Guilt gripped Emily. Maybe if I wasn't trying to keep so much distance, he would have talked to me about it. Emily looked at Scott. His composure had cracked slightly, but he kept it steady. Rachel approached them. She looked at Scott. "Hi, I'm Rachel." She extended her hand toward Scott. Scott took it. "Scott." He barely glanced at her. "Can I steal her for a bit?" Rachel asked. Scott forced a smile. "Of course."

I moved without purpose, my body carrying me on instinct alone. A cigarette rested between my fingers, smoke trailing lazily through the air. I didn’t realise where I was headed until I stopped. The library. Warm light spilt from within. Rachel stood by one of the shelves, on the tips of her toes as she reached for a book. Her expression was soft, relaxed in a way I hadn’t seen in days. She froze when she sensed me. Turning slowly, her eyes met mine. “Oh,” she said quietly. Something in my chest shifted.

As she walked past the charity's glass table she saw a book that was similar to the one Clarke bought for her after their little argument days ago. "Hey... I have this book. Dear rose...." Rachel exclaimed "Okay?" Charity acted so calmly, she wanted to hear what Rachel would say concerning the book. "the book is so nice, concise, and beautifully written" "Really? I just got the book" charity answered back. It was a lie. Rachel was able to detect this because she had gotten so used to charity in such a way that she knew what each of the charity's facial expressions meant. "Why are you acting weird?" Rachel grimaced.

No trace of her. Good. I sat down and dug into the food like a starving wolf. Damn, it was good. Too good. Homely, warm, like something stolen from a childhood I could barely remember. Rachel’s cooking. But of course, I couldn’t admit that out loud. Not even to Agnes or myself. I was halfway through devouring the meal when I heard footsteps. Rachel. She walked in quietly, not even looking my way, probably trying to stay out of sight like she said.
