Today was the day of the mating ceremony I was on my way to Santana and Xander’s house to say goodbye before we left for the next couple days. At the ceremony female wolves are given rankings based on their strength and likelihood to be a good match for an alpha. The best rankings were a 10, the weakest wolves were ranked as a one. Selene narrowed her gaze. “The Elders didn’t just rule,” the Alpha continued. “They shaped our kind. And for centuries, they have ensured one thing.” He leaned forward. “That no wolf could ever be greater than the order itself.” Selene’s lips parted. “We were a threat to that order.”

"People below 1 to 40 are the weakest, and they're called omegas. They're basically at the bottom of the pack."

Next follows the warriors and then the Elders, then the Omegas and, finally, at the bottom of the ranks in the werewolf world, are the Rogues. The Rogues, she reads from the memories of her wolf, are the wolves stripped of any wolf rank and banished from the pack, usually banned from joining another pack. She learns that being declared a Rogue is the worst thing that can happen to any werewolf, and that an Alpha can only turn to such a punishment after all have failed, or the wolf has betrayed the pack in a manner beyond forgiveness. You can say they rule over them, in other words, they are the Alpha of Alphas. And since Lycans are rare, they stand as royalty in front of other wolves.
