(Lily POV) Today is my 14th birthday. There will not be birthday cake, singing, or a party. Instead, we are attending a funeral. My sister's funeral, to be exact. Before my sister... died... we had a large party planned for me. I normally do not have a big party, but 14th birthdays are a really big deal to werewolves. They are the day that we first meet our wolves. The next monumental birthday is our 20th birthday; that is when can first identify our fated mates.

The event I don't want to go to. "Ma'am, Mr. Russo is waiting for you downstairs." My birthday has never been much of a big deal, seeing as I didn’t have much to throw a fancy party for myself. At the orphanage, birthdays are celebrated once a year for all the kids, on Christmas. So my birthday was always celebrated on December 25th rather than January 24th. It wasn't much of an event, but just a cake big enough to give everyone a bite and some drinks. Either way, we were all still excited.

Zade asked, his voice oddly high-pitched. Astrid turned to look at them, confused by their reaction. “Yeah? November 19th.
