Adrian asked. “No one questions the Alpha or the moon goddess,” Elder Orion said halting. “You're the alpha and the moon goddess had chosen Arielle as your mate. No one can question your authority or do I need to teach you the magnitude of the power you possess?” Elder Orion said, anger seething through his voice. “No.” Adrian said. “Good. We are having a meeting with the council of elders to discuss your new found mate. We will proceed with the marriage as soon as possible.” Elder Orion said as he walked out of the chambers, the sound of the door slamming behind him reverberated throughout the room.

Finally, the voice addressed Seris. *You,* it said, tone shifting to something almost… fond. *Still walking, old one?*

The long table felt more cramped than usual, tension coiling beneath every polite smile. Halfway through the meal, a councilor named Dorian — one of the oldest and most respected wolves — turned to Aria with a warm smile. “You must feel the Moon’s pull strongly, my dear. Tell us, how has the bond with our Alpha changed him?” Nicole’s jaw tightened, but she kept her gaze fixed on her plate. I try to breathe in shallow breaths through my mouth but it only helps a little. New Moon doesn’t have a problem with rogues, although sometimes one of the neighbouring packs will ask grandpa for assistance and he will send four or five warriors to help defend their borders. Adrian went still before looking at her with profound disappointment. "After everything we did for you, this is who you really are." He called Rachel over. "Terminate her immediately. "There is no place in this firm for someone like her." Serena's eyes widened. She seized Adrian's arm. "You can't do this to me, Adrian. You love me!" Adrian shoved her away and stormed out. He found his assistant at once. "Book me the earliest flight available."

From it stepped a figure wrapped in robes that seemed woven from the night sky, adorned with stars that twinkled with their own light. Draken, eyes narrowed, growled softly, "Who dares intrude upon this council?" The figure, head bowed in a sign of peace, responded, "I am Orion, Guardian of the Celestial Realm. I come neither as friend nor foe but as an observer." Seraphina's wings flared slightly. "The Celestial Realm has always remained aloof. Why the sudden interest?" Orion, his gaze as deep and endless as the cosmos, replied, "The awakening of the Heart has echoed through dimensions, even reaching our celestial sanctuaries. We wish to understand its significance."

“No, no, this can’t be right. I don’t understand—” Orion suddenly turned sharply toward the crowd. And when he spoke again, his voice wasn’t controlled anymore. It was final. “Anyone who touches my mate again,” he said coldly, every word cutting through the air like steel, “dies.”

Az purred from where he stood, leaning against the furthest post of the bed. Orion breezed into the room; a sneer permanently etched onto his face. In his hand was a vial of oil, a curved dagger, and a silver chalice. He sat all three down on the bedside table ignoring the snoring mortal but a few feet away. “You speak of her like she is a pet.” I huffed at the building tension in the air. They hadn’t even lasted ten seconds. “She’s much too feral to be a pet, brother.” Az said, his lips lifted at the corners.
