Raven saw an opening as the monster charged at him at close range. Raven dodged the Shadow Wolf's claws and descended faster, his hand searching for a sharp-looking rock beneath him. He quickly twisted his hand and stabbed the monster's head, right through the Shadow Wolf's left eye. Crop! AUUUUUUUU! The Shadow Wolf roared in pain. Its head rose, and black blood spurted out. Raven gasped for breath as he rolled over. His body trembled. He had never fought like this before. His adrenaline was high, the tension between life and death.

Raven, in his wolf form, dodged, but the rogue's claw touched his side, grazing him. "How dare you?!" Raven uttered. Blood spattered on the ground; a low growl rumbled from him. They circled each other, eyes locked, each move slow and calculated. Then, Raven surprised the rogue with a sudden pounce, his jaws snapping as he drove the rogue against the root of a towering tree. The rogue let out a piercing howl, still defiant and trying to escape, but Raven didn't give him a chance and sunk his sharp claws in his throat, ending the rogue's life.

“And I’ll keep proving it. Every day. Every hole. Until you can’t even remember anyone else exists.” Raven nodded faintly, exhausted and broken, but safe in his arms. The rivalry with Lana was over for now. But the real threats the blackmailer, the armed men were still closing in. For tonight, though, she was too destroyed to care. Leaking, aching, and utterly owned, Raven drifted into a deep, uneasy sleep while Damien held her protectively, already planning the next way to remind her who she belonged to. Their twisted world grew more dangerous by the hour. And Raven had never felt more addicted to it.

“That took longer than I expected.” I spun around. Raven stood a few steps away, a gun raised and steady in her hand. Her hair was pulled back into a tight ponytail, exposing the back of her neck. A tattoo drawn there. A cross. I had ever noticed it before. Her hair was always down and had always covered it. Suddenly, everything clicked. Why Knox had said she was different. Why he had said she smelled like rain mixed with mud. Why she was supposed to be dead—yet here she stood.
