"Realms of the Shifting Shadows: Tales of Fantasy and Fur"’ was boldly written on the binding of the book. The book has intricate designs of werewolves under a glowing moon. I picked up the book and opened the first page, which had been aged. I couldn't tell how long this must have been here. The first page I opened was blank. This prompted me to open the second page; it was practically empty, just like the first. I continued opening until the fifth page because I was counting the number of pages as I flipped

The words seemed to leap off the page, filling the room with an eerie sense of foreboding. Everything written in the book didn't make any sense to either Stella or Morgan. They found everything in the book quite absurd. The book spoke of witches, dragons, angels, vampires, and the devil. They didn't believe in such a thing at all, weren't they just fantasy? If they were to interpret it, it only meant that Grandma Elizabeth was a witch while the stranger guy whom Stella had picked from the streets the previous night was the devil.

The once admired palace on Zenrada's grounds shook with anger as well because of the ill-fate it had just suffered, but it seemed that someone else who resided within the walls of the mighty building felt angrier.

It was brand new. Blaze wasn’t aware that she preferred this genre. Derek Landy was known for his dark fantasy books. Dang it! He should have let her choose on her own right from the beginning. ‘Right’ His wolf chimed in, his voice dripping with sarcasm. Lilith brought the open book close to her nose and breathed in deeply. The feel of the smooth and crisp paper, that magical smell of a book being opened for the very first time was soothing. She felt lucky for being the first one to open it.
