I didn't ask questions anymore as I turned and focused on my food. When I had finished eating, I got up and headed into my room to grab a book from the piles Lauren had dumped in my bedroom. I have read more books than I have in five years in just two days. This was my daily routine– wake up, spend hours on my self-care, eat, read, drink wine, pace around, stare at the clock, sleep. My life had never felt bothered the way it did now.

I wonder how many books can he read in a day? I was about to get the book from his hands when he suddenly moved. I’m really really dead if I ever disturb him from his sleep I took a deep breath as I try to get the book from him again. I thought I wouldn’t be able to wake him up but he suddenly opened his eyes “WHAT.THE.FUCK.DO.YOU.THINK.ARE.YOU.DOING you retarded woman?” I quickly took a step back. “I-I’m sorry.. The others consisted of two romance novels and one mystery book. "I'll start reading you first thing in the morning." I then laid down and just a few minutes later sleep took over. ~~~~ Two days went by. Extremely slow. I finished all of the books. Okay I skipped a few pages here and there but still. It was now the third day and I became exceptionally bored and restless. I couldn't stare at these walls any longer. If I could just talk to someone or feel the Sun. Oh that would be heavenly. Too bad the sliding doors to the balcony was locked as well.

It will take time to start my proper class for the final year of college so today I decided to read a novel. I have a habit of finishing a book in one day if I like it too much. I can't put the book back incomplete once I start reading it. I love to watch movies and webseries and I watch them on vacation or on Sunday. Sometimes I go with my friends to the theatre to watch movies. I have many books on my list to read. Today I chose one romantic novel by Ravinder Singh Indian author. It's his first novel " I too had a love story."

This is the price I paid just to come back and see you because I am truly dead. As bottle after bottle of strong liquor washed over my wounds until my flesh turned pale and raw, I shivered from the excruciating pain. I don't get the joy people find in such things. To me, it was just staring at words and nothing more. I still haven't read past the first thirty pages of the book and it has three hundred plus pages in it.

Just the book. I sat down on the edge of the bed slowly as the morning light was coming in through the window. I opened the first page. I did not stop. Time went by. I did not notice at first. The penthouse was quiet around me. The world outside was moving. I stayed where I was turning pages like something inside them was holding me. When I finally reached the page my hands were still. My coffee had gone cold beside me. I realized I had read the whole book in one sitting without thinking about leaving the room.
