Reading Books Job Novels & Stories

I buy a book every day but now I have them stockpiled for a whole week or even a month. I have no job and reading has become the only job I employed myself for with no pay. I can read a complete book in a day while other times, I read half of it before sleep overtakes me. Aside from reading, I eat a lot and sleep a lot. I do my exercises indoors now and I watch movies when I am tired of reading or straining my eyes to read. At night, when the light of the apartment has been cut off sometimes, I watch movies on my phone.

The boss was a friend of my mother, so she agreed to give me work despite the young age. It was not a complicated job. I just need to attend and advise some people who sought to read, record each purchase, organize the books, make inventory and from time to time attend the social networks of the bookstore. We used to publish photos of the new books and the rebates. Easy and simple.

Books didn’t need to be chased around like kids were. A young man interviews me this time. He has curly hair, rolled up sleeves and an expression that screams exhausted employee. “So Rhoda.” He says while glancing at my application. “Why do you want to work at the library?” Because I desperately need money and my life is falling apart. “I enjoy books.” I answer instead. He nods approvingly. “Good start.” Okay it was starting on a good note. “What genres do you usually read?” My brain immediately betrays me again. “Psychological studies mostly.”

"And... you're determined to prove her wrong using us? With all due respect, boss, reading eight books isn't possible. I promise if you'd agreed with her, it wouldn't have made you less charming." Katya nodded. "He's right." Well, maybe. "It doesn't matter anymore. The books are here already. So, get to work." Eric flipped through the pages with horrified eyes. "Boss, I haven't read a damn book since I was fifteen. There's a reason I don't teach for a living but specialize in ending lives. "You should get to work with this time, Eric. Trust me, you don't want to know the ending if I'm disappointed." I walked away.

Just one of the perks of being a wolf. Her favorite job was packing the books back onto their allotted shelves. I gave her time to wander through the library and hopefully find new treasures. She loved to read, always had and she missed having a book in her hand for the past few days. She had a stack of ‘to be read’ books piled a mile high on her nightstand and she was determined to get through all of them. Reading was in her blood. It was her favorite thing to do and she could never get enough of it. That’s why working at the town library was a no-brainer for her.

“This is the thirteenth largest library owned by Herald.” I was greeted with tall shelves that were full of books. Wow. Our school library or even our town library couldn’t compare to that repertoire. Has Sean read all of the books there? Maybe those were business books that’re full of graphs, economic statuses, and etc. They say that a CEO’s average read in a year is 60 books. Awesome, right? After all, learning doesn’t stop after graduation. “All of them are literary books,” she said. I smiled. So that meant they’re all stories?

I'm looking through job applications as I walk downstairs I would want my job to be like the one I had applied for at Berkeley Publishing. I want to use my degree and facilitate my love for reading. I want to work in publishing. Is that too much to ask? I scoff and swipe left on every single ad. Until one of them grabs my attention and I bury my nose into my phone as I quietly walk into the kitchen. A sound of soft humming pulls me out of my haze, and I look up from my phone. However, I'm unprepared for a sight that welcomes me.

While I was ranting and being a petty human being to my ex-employer, I was processing ways to find a new job. The dried leaves crunched under my worn-out sneakers clad feet. I pulled the ragged hoodie a little tighter, balling my fists a little deeper into the pockets. My mind veered back to the bookshop. I liked working there, not because my employer was a ray of sunshine but I liked the smell of books, taking care of them and at times sneaking off during lunch hours to read a few pages of the new arrivals. I was hired because I was very well acquainted with books since I love them.

In the last two days, Liana finished reading ten reference books, and when she finished the last one, she didn't seem satisfied. " What is it Lilih? Is something wrong? " Jack asked worriedly. " No, there's nothing wrong with them, it's just that they're all textbooks for programming students. Does your school have anything for professionals?" Liana asked curiously, and Jack was surprised. " So, these readings are all recommended by my teachers, and I can't understand even half of them. " he answered. " I understand, but all these books are intended for classroom reading, and the information provided is only at a rudimentary level. Do you have somewhere in mind where you could borrow books o

My eyes widened in shock and I slowly raised to look at him, asking, "What the hell are you talking about? How.... How could I read all these books?! I am here as Mr. Logan's personal assistant, not as some manager!" God! I never even read all these huge books in my college to get a degree. "There are only 20 books and you should finish them by tomorrow. There are other set books for the next day," He just informed me without answering my questions and just walked back to his seat. I stared at him with my big eyes, as I couldn't believe his words. "What the hell is wrong with you? Why should I read these?! As far as I have looked into this job, I am only supposed to inform him of the appoint
