I tilted my head back and stared up at the piercing light in the living room. What was hiding behind that thing? From the very first loop, I'd felt that this light was off. No matter if it was day or night, the lighting in this place was an unnaturally harsh white. And that was the only real difference between this room and my original one. Why would such a ridiculously bright light be installed for no reason? It was obviously so that the "audience" could see every bit of the scene clearly.

I jump when the door is snapped shut behind me, the interior so dark that I’m momentarily blind before my nocturnal vision kicks in and almost fall onto my seat as I clutch the cold leather and edge myself to sit down. The inner car is spacious, unlit, and my vision starts to adjust properly just before Leyanne lights it up with a glowing ball in the center of her palm. I blink, flinching painfully at the sudden white light she just dazzled me with and snort again, showing my displeasure with her for all of this. “Not all of us have night vision goggles you know, Darrius. I couldn't get a full breath. "Hello? Anyone? I swear to God, if this is a prank, it's not funny." Then I heard it… the snickers from the darkness. It continued, then it came from everywhere. "Let me out of here this instant!" Once I said that, the lights came on from every corner. The lights were 50,000-lumen corn bulbs. Fixed strategically in every part of the room. It was too bright, all of them. My eyes burned. I squeezed them shut and still saw red through my lids.

Inside the bathroom drawer lay a package of sanitary pads that clearly didn’t belong to me. Outside the door, I heard Tamara’s voice on the phone. "Mr. Shepherd," she said sweetly, "I got my period at the hospital, but I can’t find the special brand for younger girls. There’s a pack left in your bathroom. Could you bring it to me?" Henry stepped into the bathroom, only to catch me pulling open the drawer. His gaze flickered with guilt before he quickly walked away.

“Probably before the stretch lights. We can do our homework at your house and then I can go home.” “Sounds like a plan best friend.”

Prince Eli just rubs my back as I think he needs the comfort too. I have the curtains drawn as it is easier to focus with artificial light, but the damn curtains are not closing properly. A stream of moonlight is entering the room and throwing me off as it is distracting. I mutter under my breath, "Damn curtains", and walk over to shut them. As I let go of Prince Eli to walk over, he grabs me by the arms, holding me back. In barely a whisper, he mutters, "a moon-ray". I'm just getting angry at this point. "A what".

“Budget on this slide.” The budget was reasonable. Bianca knew it would be. “You called three decorators,” she said. “And two furniture suppliers,” Lily said. “And one lighting specialist.” She looked up. “The lighting is important. The quality of light in the first year affects development. I read three papers.” Ethan looked at the ceiling. “She read three papers,” he said. “I wanted to be accurate,” Lily said. “This is important.” Bianca looked at this almost-eight-year-old who had read three developmental papers about infant lighting and documented morning light for four consecutive days and had a budget breakdown on slide twelve.

The Blazing Lights is one of the biggest clubs there is on the earth. So, it was going to be more fun than all the other times we went out clubbing. The first thing I see once entering the club is the sweating bodies dancing to loud, bass-filled music. The bright, blinding, strobe lights illuminate the otherwise pitch-black club. I guess that’s why they call it The Blazing Lights.
