The Villainous Luna's Destined Mates

The Villainous Luna's Destined Mates

I look around and discover that I’m at a strange location that I had never been to before. I look down at my hands and see a black coat on. I look inside when a light suddenly appears, and when I do, I see that the light is coming from the book I was reading earlier. All that changed is its size. I furrow my brows and turn the pages. However, there are no words. The pages are not filled in. I keep squinting my eyes. Since I now realize it is useless, all I do is tuck it back into my pocket when it lit up once more. It is accompanied by my bracelet.

Being Yours

Being Yours

Her light was out. How long had it been since he’d seen her out here? Half an hour? Forty-five minutes? It was only shortly after eleven and she’d once been a regular night owl, reading herself to sleep, but often not until the small hours. How he’d grumbled about waking up to find her sound asleep, book on her pillow, light still on. Yet it had been loving grumbling and it hadn’t hurt him to get out of bed, gently remove her book and turn out her light. Maybe, with any kind of luck, she was lying there, as far from sleep as he was, but not daring to read lest he see her light and know.

The Lost Alphas Daughter

The Lost Alphas Daughter

Dim, golden light illuminates narrow aisles, casting long shadows that twist and shift with each step. The library is silent, save for the soft rustle of turning pages and the occasional squeak of a trolley wheel as librarians glide between shelves like wraiths. Their movements are unnervingly silent, their faces impassive as they climb ladders to retrieve books or vanish into shadowy alcoves. The atmosphere presses down on me, a solemn reminder of the knowledge stored here and the secrets it might hold.

Sweet Marriage: Dear Lady, You're Mine

Sweet Marriage: Dear Lady, You're Mine

He was a scheming man! George raised an eyebrow. "Almost all of them are wrong. Who could be so dumb?" "I don't know." She was just happy from reading the stories. "These are even better than novels. I feel like telling them the truth after I see them making so many guesses." George really admired her thinking and asked, "Do you usually read novels?" George knew that Sigrid would read novels on an e-book reader when she was bored. There was less radiation than a mobile phone, and it recreated the feeling of reading an actual book, reducing the damage on one's eyes. Aside from that, she would also put on blue light glasses.

THE CEO ALREADY KNEW

THE CEO ALREADY KNEW

The windows reflect the room back at itself, showing me ghost versions of the kitchen island, the marble counters, my own figure moving through the darkness. I don't turn on the main lights. I find the small lamp above the stove — a deliberate choice, placed there for exactly this purpose, for the small hours when you need light but not too much light. It creates a pool of warm yellow that turns the rest of the room into shadow. The effect is intimate, almost sacred. A circle of light in the darkness, and me standing in it.

Thalia's Ashen Fate

Thalia's Ashen Fate

It pulsed softly, throwing the spines of countless books into sharp relief and sending long, distorted shadows dancing across the floorboards. From the corner of my eye, I saw Cassius’s silhouette, still and watchful as ever. I moved to the central desk, my boots echoing in the vastness. My fingers, acting on memory alone, found the worn leather pouch. The flint and steel felt cold in my hand. A sharp strike, a shower of sparks, and a single flame sprang to life on the wick of the main candle, painting the room in hues of gold and amber. One by one, I lit the sconces that lined the curved walls, the growing light a physical weight pushing back the oppressive dark.

Love Ain't Always Pretty

Love Ain't Always Pretty

Shit. I forgot to turn on the lights before opening the door, acting as casual as I can. Now he's probably thinking I did that on purpose because I want to screw him. Even though I really want to but gosh how can I be so clumsy when Nick is around? I quickly turned on the lights and tired to calm down. "I was reading the book and the lamp on the study table was all I need." I said. He didn't say a word and just looked at me.

LIGHT AFTER DARK

LIGHT AFTER DARK

But Lara did… and it hurt her more than what he did to her three years back. Since she was left alone by Christophe and Francine, she went off to explore after dinner, wandering through beautifully furnished and decorated reception rooms that were lifeless. Lara was delighted to come upon a library and, locating the English section, selected ‘Jane Eyre’, her favorite. She hadn’t read it for several years. But Charlotte Brontë failed her for the very first time. Lara found it impossible to concentrate. Standing up again, she cast the book aside and stepped through the curtains to open the French windows that featured in virtually every room. She walked along the terrace. As Lara passed by ope

Howls of Love

Howls of Love

"Let's sleep... Let's go out tomorrow. I'll bring you somewhere..." I swallowed hard, "Uhmn, I'll gonna be in the library for a couple of hours..." I tried to avoid. He chuckled. "Let's go then..." I went out of the room straight to the library. Light isn't joking, he followed me. I find the book I wanted to read and went straight to the swivel chair while Light took his laptop and went to the visitor's couch. I couldn't focus reading while seeing him. I didn't know that I was watching him for minutes when his lips suddenly forms a smile as our eyes locked. "Still not sleepy?" he beamed.

The Hidden Weapon

The Hidden Weapon

She slowly steps inside, no trace of Merfoy even his shadow. “Hello? Merfoy? Why is it so dark in here?” she said lowering her voice. She suddenly heard a loud thud in the right corner, it was from the bookshelf. It was so dark that she can’t see a single thing. She step into a book and picked it up. “Is this Merfoy’s magic book?” she thought as she opened it, it suddenly produced a light that struck her eyes and lit the corner where she is standing. The pages moved on their own as it suddenly stops, she read what was written on the page.

I've learned that picking the right reading light is crucial. I prefer lights with adjustable brightness and color temperature. A warm light around 2700K is easier on the eyes for nighttime reading, while a cooler light around 4000K is better for daytime. I avoid harsh white LEDs that cause glare. A flexible neck or clip-on design helps direct the light exactly where I need it without disturbing others. Battery-operated ones are great for portability, but I make sure they last long enough for my reading sessions. Dimmer switches are a bonus for fine-tuning the light to my comfort level.
