She took my hand into her and guided it to the right a little bit. "It's these stars here. Here's her head. Her arm." She moved my arm down, making sure my finger pointed at each star respectively. "Her leg. If you look more south, we can make out Scorpius by the red star Antares."

(Lyra’s POV) The stars felt off tonight. Not in some metaphorical sense. The stars’ behavior couldn’t be explained with simple astrology apps or typical late-night thoughts. Something about the stars tonight sent shivers down my spine and twisted my stomach as if they knew something I couldn’t see. I teetered on the rooftop’s edge with my hoodie zipped against the cold while my boots gripped the cracked concrete as I watched an unusually vibrant sky. The wind moved around me in a wavering manner while holding its breath as if uncertain.

Shama sat beneath the moonlit sky, the cool breeze caressing her skin. She gazed up at the full moon, its silvery glow illuminating the vast expanse of the night sky. Myriad stars twinkled around it, like diamonds scattered on black velvet. Shama wondered which celestial body she most resembled: the lone moon, shining brightly in the darkness, or the countless unknown stars, twinkling beside it, their light unseen by most.
