In a way, we were also both victims of Brayden, but that was something I wouldn't be able to explain to her. "Wait," I said to her, and pointed to the book in her hands. "…What are you reading?" I don't have any pending assignments right now, so I thought I'd read a story on the Good Novel app first. Ever since I couldn't buy physical books anymore, I started reading different stories about fantasy and romance on this app. At least I'm having fun, especially when I'm stressed out over school work and other stuff. I'm reading Miss Thinz's story Her Ruthless Alpha because I love Erdy and Zerra's story. I hope I can find a man like Erdy. They're not just handsome and rich, but they're also really loving and caring. But those kinds of men can only exist in novels.

I gaped at him. “You read her books!” “Read! I love them so much!” “Really?” Liam smiled like he had struck gold. “What’s your favourite?” “All! But I enjoyed the Pink Hearts and Sunshine series more. Daren and Phoebe’s love story is my favourite, but Cain and Debra are my favourite characters. And also The Malcolm Ladies series. I’ve read just the first book and fell in love.” I ranted, and the way he stared at me, listening to my words with rapt attention, warmed my heart. It’s been too long since I’ve had a book buddy, and Liam was reminding me how nice it was to discuss a book with others who loved it also.

EMILY'S POV For a second, I could breathe well because I actually thought I was dreaming right now. I mean, how could Liam be reading my novel.
