Novel & Cerita Ready Or Not Novel

In the eighth year, August was the arrival of the thing that August had always been pointing toward. He wrote in the journal on the first of August: The month is here. The container is open. The thing will come on its own morning. I will be ready because I have been ready for five years. The readiness is not preparation — it is the state of having been prepared by the living. The living has prepared me. I am ready.

She sat with it for a while. Then she said, “I spent thirty-two years not knowing what I was. I spent four weeks terrified of what I was becoming. And now you are telling me there is something I could be part of that would mean never being entirely alone in it again.” She looked at me steadily. “The question is not whether I am willing. The question is whether I am ready, which is different.” “Yes,” I said. “That is exactly the right question.” “Am I ready?” “I think you will be in seven days,” I said. “The readiness I am looking for is not about capability. It is about having enough ground under you that you can receive something large without it destabilising the ground.”

he said, and the conviction in his voice was real and came from a genuine place, which was the most difficult kind of conviction to push against. "They are not ready," Nova said, and her voice carried the quiet steel of someone who has thought this through more carefully and from more angles than anyone else in the room. "And there is no shame in that. Ready is a condition, not a character, and it will come with time that they will have if we protect it for them now."

However, what I didn’t expect was that someone else wasn’t ready to let me go. The next day, an unfamiliar name appeared in my inbox. The email contained no words and only a link.

The Calling Chapter 1 I am walking down the cliffy road, it’s dark out with only the street lamp to illuminate my path. I am slightly cold and very irritated at my current situation. I had gotten to my car only to discover the battery dead. Obviously the car would not start, could not even unlock the bloody door via car remote.

He grinned at my outburst, relieved that I wasn't on a date. “Good. Good.” He nodded to himself, “He didn't look the date type, more like mafia type and I know you aren't into that.” Oh boy! If only he knew! “Yeah.” I forced out a laugh. “What about me? Would you date me if I were the last man on the earth?” He asked hopefully, his eyes impatient yet hopeful. I hated turning people down. But I wasn't ready to date. I didn't know if I would ever be ready to date again.

She heard her boss announce as she reached the kitchen. "Yippie!" She ran over to the kitchen counter, wagging her invisible tail. "What are you? A puppy?" He chuckled. "Woof," She played along. He laughed. She then noticed the laptop at the table, "You read my novel?" She asked, her eyes sparkled, "How was it?" "Full of cliches and grammatical and spelling errors," He stated. "Oh come on, cliches are life, and it was my first draft, I have yet to edit it," She pouted.

We begin swaying to the music as we keep glancing at each other. I have found my happiness and piece of mind even after a lot of struggles. Looking into Gabriel's eyes, I just know it that this is just the beginning of something bigger. I am happy to announce that FADED is a paid story on goodnovel with over 3K views. It honestly means a lit to me as a young writer. I urge you to continue supporting me by reading my other works on my profile. I will be dropping the synopsis and cover in some time. There is still a lot to discover for Lyka and so, don't miss out on book two which I will perhaps be dropping next year.

I know, she thought. I know. I'm trying. I know, she thought, to the thing that was there and growing and terrifyingly real. I know. I’m trying. But she also knew something else now — something harder. Trying want the same as being ready. And readiness was not going to arrive like relief. It would not come gently. It would not come at all unless she chose it. She picked up the phone again. Looked at his name Her thumb hovered Readiness was not a feeling. It was a decision.
