Clara yelled, threw the towel on the table and left for her room angry. Ragnor's loving gaze turned ice-cold, seeing Jessica bothering Clara. He was now looking at Jessica who had her back turned to him. Jessica felt her back suddenly become heavy. She turned to find out why and there in the corner the quiet man who some few minutes ago appeared harmless and invisible now looked terrifying. Jessica gulped and ran to Clara's room. Clara was annoyed to see Jessica but calmed herself down when she saw how terrified her friend was. "What is it, Jessica?" Clara asked worriedly "Why do you look like you just saw a ghost."

For the first time in weeks, her worries felt far away. And then came the scares. They entered the haunted house as a group, swallowed by fog, flashing lights, and grotesque monsters popping out of the dark. Zoe screamed at every corner, practically hanging off Melinda, who threatened to hex the next actor who touched her. Chloe shrieked when a clown lunged from behind a curtain, then broke into nervous laughter, clutching Diana’s arm. Diana strutted through unbothered, blowing kisses at the “undead,” and announcing, “Scary is cute on me.”

Clara blinked and nodded negatively. "Should I be scared of you?" She asked as he smiled at her reply. "Omg. Are you going to eat me alive? Do you have any secrets? Omg. Don't tell me that you are a vampire." Clara exclaimed horrified, making him startled with her imagination. "What if I am?" He asked as he unbuttoned his first two buttons. Okay, that's a bad choice to tease him. She blinks when she sees his stare which is charging to a darker shade.

"An hour passes, and his eyes are adjusting more to the darkness. He tries to make out the words, but it's a struggle. He gasps when he finally makes out the sentence: 'I know you're awake' Then he feels something shift underneath his bed." "BOO!" Everyone screams when a figure dressed up like a clown jumps into our midst out of nowhere. "Calm down guys, it's just Todd." Simone announces, the idiotic Todd guy bursting out in laughter. "Your faces looked deformed!" He cackles like a maniac. "Let's try deforming yours, shall we?" Someone cracks their knuckles, before gripping him by the shoulder and dragging him away. Looks like Todd's dead meat. "Allie." "Hmm?"

I missed her beautiful scent, I missed staring into her eyes and admiring her beauty. My hands fell to the hand of the chair, under it I felt an indent. Like a mark. I turned around and looked to see what it was, it was then I saw the sign. Something I had told Naomi sometime about, it had been nothing but she had chosen it. The head of a clown. It wasn't drawn beautifully but I could make it out. When I had told her about it, I had meant it as a sign of fear when I was a boy. I had been scared of clowns and as I grew into a man, I made them my sign to induce fear into my rivals.

A massive building suddenly appeared in front of Valeria, making her stop in her tracks. The walls were painted black with red splatters that looked like dripping blood. Valeria winced at the sight, instantly reminded of the image of the deer she had seen earlier. Twisted neon lights formed the words Haunted House, hanging above the entrance, with a mechanical clown face beside it that opened and closed its mouth on repeat. The clown alone was creepy enough to make Valeria’s skin crawl. No wonder the kids were scared yesterday.

Clair shrieked exactly once, then denied it immediately. “That was not fear,” she said, clutching my arm. “No?” “That was outrage.” “Sure.” She hit my shoulder. “Shut up.” The path split and narrowed in odd places, forcing groups to separate and rejoin around fake coffins, crooked mirrors, and rooms pulsing with red light. The attraction wasn’t good, exactly, but it had that chaotic carnival quality where bad design and too much noise occasionally lined up into something effective. At one bend, we nearly walked straight into a hanging body prop, and Clair actually ducked into my side with a startled laugh.

‘’You have got to be kidding me,’’ he said, making a face. “What better way to feel like a kid again and take our mind off things?’’ Aaron made a face. ‘’I hate clowns.’’ ‘’You hate them, I fear them but that’s not why we are here.’’ There was a knock on the window and when I looked, there was nothing at first then a clown popped up and I screamed on top of my lungs. Aaron began to laugh, and when I turned to him he was wiping his eyes. ‘’That was fucking brilliant. You should see your face.’’
