DEBBY’S POV __________________________________ The sun’s dropping over Crescent City, throwing long shadows across the mansion’s yard. I’m pacing near the garage, my sneakers kicking up dirt. My head’s a mess after last night—that humming bloodstone, the wolf room, Levin’s voice saying, I need you. The book I stole is heavy under my jacket, a secret I can’t let go. Jerry’s with Sasha somewhere, and my gut’s screaming she’s hiding something. Damon’s crew is circling, and I’ve got to figure this out before they hit us again.

Grabbing her diamond purse, Qing Yue hopped out of her hover and pressed the purple button on her blouse sleeve. "Have a wonderful time, Master!" The hologram screeched robotically as the hover blinked twice and went dark. Diamond purse clutched in hand, Qing Yue smiled and walked towards the revolving glass doors. As she passed a group of four descending from their own hover, her bracelet caught in her purse. Then, an unexpected gust of wind blew and her black hair flew in her face, blinding her vision.

Eighteen Years Ago The Shadow Pack burned that night; the storm came first, then came the lightning. It split the sky in two; thunder shook the very foundation of the pack, like the growl of a vengeful god. The rain lashed out, falling heavily, but it didn't quench the fire swallowing the packhouse whole. The flames devoured the Alpha's mansion and everything that stood in their way. Hidden in the hollow oak tree is a child with jet-black hair clutching a leather-bound book to her chest.

The rain had turned into a cold drizzle by then. I stepped into what had once been a courtyard. The moment my boot touched the center stone— The mark exploded with heat. I gasped. Light sparked across the ruined ground. Ancient symbols illuminated beneath layers of dirt and moss. Silver lines spread outward in every direction. The entire courtyard started glowing. "Rebecca!" Tyler reached for me. Too late. The world vanished. I wasn't standing in the ruins anymore. I was standing in the same courtyard. But it wasn't ruined.

My voice so low, I know only she could hear it. Rosa’s eyes widen, but I can smell her arousal. The way her body came alive at the thought of being taken right here… in the middle of this busy street. ‘I need to taste her,’ Onyx growls, trying to claw his way to the forefront of my mind. ‘If you don’t get us home within the next few minutes, I’ll drag her into an empty alleyway and show her that we follow through on our threats.’ Fear fills my mind. Onyx can be… untamed. Feral in some ways. He is a beast at heart, but sometimes I find that he lacks humanity entirely.

Onyx replied, “Not usually, but she is demanding something that goes against the goddess’ will. I won’t let my teeth extend for you to mark anyone but Isaac.” I asked, “Have you spoken with Rolf?” She answered, “I have. He said that Isaac is going nuts. He’s punishing himself over you being taken.” I sighed, “Tell Rolf it was my fault for getting complacent.” Onyx asked, “Are you disappointed with me for letting you get into this situation?” I answered, “Not at all. I know it is in the goddess’ plan. She told me about it. I am almost regretting not marking Isaac though.”

STORM Landon and I have been on the road for a week now and right now, we are on our way back home. It's so early, and I am quiet in my seat as I look outside the window as he drives. My whole life changed when I met them, and I cannot take it back, every single of them. I don’t regret any of it. I have decided to go home knowing that there is always going to be darkness in me, it's there to stay, and the best part of it is, I have found boys who want to join in on my darkness. They have shared theirs and invited me into theirs.

Then the shadows exploded. Dark energy crashed across the ruins like a storm wave. Warriors screamed as they were thrown backward violently. Several wolves slammed into trees hard enough to crack the bark. The chains holding Damian rattled loudly. Orion cursed under his breath.And then she appeared. Nyx stepped out from the darkness slowly. Her black robes flowed around her like smoke. Silver symbols glowed faintly across her skin, and her silver eyes burned brighter than I had ever seen before. The moment she appeared, every shadow around the ruins bent toward her.

Onyx. Zayden’s wolf slammed into the rogue hard enough to send him crashing across the dirt before pinning him beneath massive paws. “You’re welcome,” Zayden linked smugly. “You couldn’t resist showing off.” “Somebody has to carry this family.” Nyx snorted loudly. “Honestly he might have a point.” Traitor. The rogue struggled violently beneath Onyx while snapping his jaws repeatedly. “Ryker,” Zayden barked through the link. “Silver chains. Now.”

An excellent one to be precise and that was what had kept him employed. In the seat beside him was a woman. She had long, blonde hair that when allowed to move with gravity, neared her waist. She was dressed in a silvery gown and looked like a queen. What she lacked though, was a crown on her head and three dozen guards watching her every step. She was Sarah, Harold's stepmother. In the seats behind the driver and Sarah was Harold and someone who was bound to make his next two years in Golden Lake University more miserable; Maximus (or Max for short).
