Looking around us, I saw nothing out of the ordinary. I finally saw her. Abigail, kneeling by the stream. The stream that now seemed to be stained with blood. She had a katana protruding out of her stomach and her eyes were lifeless. Behind her, a female stood, holding the katana and pushing it further into her unmoving body. That female was me. I was murdering Abigail and I looked... pleased, satisfied. I was driving the Soul splitter into her stomach with glee. I let out a gasp at the sight before me. My hands came to cover my mouth in trepidation. I was beginning to tremble all over again and I suddenly forced my eyes shut.

I muttered in surprise. She didn't look up, so I could see her features and see if I knew her or not!! I followed her for a while and found her stretching her fingertips and hoping to find something to cling to. Despite her stubbornness and persistence, I listened to her scolding herself indignantly as she said, Bloom, "What stupidity threw me here in this strange place!! When I was training with the coach and my teammates, there was no deep abyss beneath us, reaching the sea full of rocks and stumbles. If I don't climb that hill, I will die from the fall, and if I still have a breath and I don't die from the fall, I will die by drowning."

But then, slowly, a smile broke through my sorrow as warmth filled my heart. Someone did care about me. Rising slowly, I dried my tears, my eyes sparking with resolve. I knew what I had to do next. Pulling out my phone, I composed a message to Scott. The message read, 'I know everything, Scott. It was just an act. You conspired with the bald man. Everything from start to finish was a set-up so that you could use me. Well played! 'But I owe you thanks. Without this, I would never have discovered someone who truly loves me. We’re done here. Let’s hope our paths never cross again.'

In the far corner, was a messenger— the one who had probably brought the news about the rebellion. “You slapped me, Damien? Why? Because I said you should stop whining about your duties? Or because I told you to stop talking about that bitch?!” Lily immediately stood up, red her flaring about. She looked like a flame, with the way her face turned pink and ears pointed sharp. I was invisible to the rest of the pack members. Entering the hall, no one noticed me. What could have triggered this unrest in paradise? I was amused, I couldn't lie.

Logan carefully put me down, then charged at Niles and they started fighting fiercely. My back hurt so much that I gasped for air. But just then, a bold idea flashed through my mind. Looking at Sophie acting crazy, I knew we couldn't keep the rebirth secret any longer. But more than the rebirth, I needed to create a role for myself. One that could guide Logan to the path I wanted. Logan and Niles were natural enemies. They fought many times. No one had won yet. While Logan was distracted, Niles grabbed Sophie and ran.

“Pity is not justice. Mercy breeds rot, and rot breeds ruin.” I descended the steps slowly, letting each footfall echo. “When we swore the oath, it was to keep balance. One light for one shadow. Ares has forgotten. The goddess toys with him, and through him she toys with all of us.” Faces hardened; someone muttered agreement. I stopped before the broken table and drew my dagger, the metal still faintly red from the backlash. “This is not rebellion,” I said. “It is correction.” The dagger’s edge caught the firelight. “We are the Crimson Moon. We will cleanse what the false light has stained.”

Emergency broadcasts flickered intermittently, overridden by cryptic warnings: Emergency Feed (blaring, distorted): “Patient zero terminated. System collapse imminent.” At a hidden safe house on the outskirts, a small band of rebels huddled around a flickering holo - map. Names weren’t spoken aloud, but one image flashed briefly on the projection — a pale, ghostly figure, a spark of hope amidst the surrounding chaos. Rebel 1 (grim, urgent): “We can’t wait for them. If the city falls, no one survives.” Rebel 2 (nodding, resolute): “We find out what EVO really was. We stop it — before it’s too late.”

“I’m so sorry.” I keep moving. I stay low to the ground because the air is better there. I feel like a ghost. I’ve lived twenty-two years as a ghost in this pack, so I’m good at it. At the east water trough, the air is a little cooler, but the water is black with ash. “Maren? Is that you?” I turn around. It’s Reva. She’s leaning against the stone trough, holding her arm. There’s a deep cut there, and she’s got two little kids tucked behind her legs. They’re crying.

Silas finished. “He a bad man?” Ryder asked. “Yes, son.” Blaze answered. “He was a very bad man. He tried to take your mama.” Blaze explained. “He try to take mama.” Rebel asked as his eyes went black and fur started to sprout from his little body. Storm quickly took Rebel in her arms. “Rebby, calm down baby.” She hugged him tight. He breathed in his mama’s scent deeply. “But he try to take you.” He gritted.
