The sound of boots on metal—rhythmic, heavy—echoed through the cavern. We turned. Rax stood there, flanked by six of his rebels. They looked ragged, their scavenged armor coated in a thick layer of grey dust. Their weapons were raised, but their hands were shaking. Their eyes were wide, darting toward the black pool with primal terror.

Blood poured into the earth, yet the rogue barely seemed it feel it. I felt a sudden form of rage. I stabbed and tore the rogue from him, throwing it into the rocks. Its body fell with a sickening crunch, but once more I saw the broken bones begin to gather back into place, limbs cracking around until it was standing once again. My wolf snarled at the sight of it. “What the fuck are these things?” Doubtful, Caspian spat, shaking himself out once more. I didn’t answer. My chest was heaving, and my claws were dripping red, but they still came, surrounding us in a circle with their glowing eyes.

"I will say two things." Reinhard turned his head with an expression that was also equally serious. "First, we're going to find a place, at least somewhere safe enough for Michelle." "Then?" "You said you and Alexis wanted to fight?" "Of course!" "Then, once we find a safe place, we will return to moving as rebel forces. But this time, there is no more hiding." "You mean—" Damien gave a big smile. "Maybe I've had enough of playing it smooth all this time. I want to show those lowly bastards what hell really is."

Marcus growls at Cole while he tries to teach him a new maths equation. "But I can't do it! This is so fucking stupid why are you making me do it!" Cole shouts. The two female wolves haven’t left Selene’s side for a second, but they are constantly battling one renegade or another trying to get close. Sorem and Roower, Augusto’s wolf, are fighting fiercely. "I'm going to take so much pleasure in killing you." "Kill? Since when do you kill?" I snap, glaring up at him.

"You're quite popular around here, you know." I scoffed. "The only place my fame blooms in, is Greenville and it's for a bad cause." I answered dryly. "Greenville might know you as the son of a traitor but outside Greenville, you're known as The Rebellious Alpha." He replied and immediately some of his friends looked back at us. "I'm no Alpha, Gabriel." "Well you are, you do have Alpha blood running through your veins and of course, you're the only man who challenged Alpha Jason's position." Gabriel explained. "So technically, you're the rebellious Alpha."

Chapter 2: Rebel ~Wren~ I slink in through the loose shingles on the roof, softly landing in our makeshift hideout loft. It isn’t much, honestly, it looks like a child’s playhouse, but when all the outliers are beggars or thieves, it’s hard to come by nice things for a rebel headquarters. We are lucky that Ms. Grayford is deaf and never travels upstairs. Not that she would care if she did. She hates Alpha Alden as much as we all do.

“Not until I have this place safe. You’re safest in your room with Mara and Elvie right now. You need to eat this not me.” Reu said nothing, just stood with his head downwards, trying to make himself invisible. The room was too small to make a third wheel disappear. Even so, I wasn’t going to accept this lying down. “It hasn’t even been twelve hours since I woke up and you’re getting rid of me? What happened to everything you said?” His face snapped to attention, his brown eyes burning daggers into me with frustration. “A full scale rebellion happened, that's what! Machine-guns still ringing in my ears! I cannot look after you in this state-”

She wanders off in a daze towards it and leaves me there to keep the artwork nearby from being destroyed. Rebel is as silent when he fights as when he is doing anything else. A few grunts come out as Colin punches him in the gut, attempting to hit Mick but missing. Mick gets two more right hooks off on Colin’s face, opening up his lip and making his nose bleed before Rebel’s in the way again. It’s like Mick is possessed, the way he keeps going at his brother. If it weren’t so sickening it would be impressive. Talk about determined. I thought I held the corner on that one, but no. I was wrong. Again.
