Selene swallowed, feeling the heat of his anger but also the thread of fear buried beneath it.
“I can’t just stand by,” she said quietly, her voice softer now. “I won’t.”
Kieran exhaled, his hand running through his hair. “Then let me help you. But my way.”
Selene tilted her head. “And what way is that?”
Kieran hesitated. Then, with a glance at the door like he was making sure they were alone, he said, “A rebellion.”
