I explained everything to him and then he went quiet. "Mm...I guess. But I will miss you. Just don't take too long. Call me the moment you're back." He pouted adorably. "My god, Leo! You're even worse than Marc." I laughed at him. "Hey, it's a rebound. I'm healing every time we have vigorous sex. And it shouldn't be stopped abruptly. Who knows what would happen if I had a relapse." He pointed out while kissing the back of my neck.

"That's good." After a pause, he added, "If you ever need help, just let me know." "Okay." I nodded. … Back in class, I sat down, took out my phone, and checked the time. Less than 24 hours had passed since I broke up with Caleb, yet I didn't feel sad at all. On the contrary, I felt a sense of relief. After all, the more exciting part of the story was just beginning. By the third day after the breakup, I noticed Caleb appearing more and more often.

He muttered, his voice turning into more of an unpleasant shriek. "But I do know." Cupid retorted. "I know why you installed our app Mr. Walters and trust me when I say you do not need a rebound. Ruben’s arm, once warm and inviting, now felt distant and detached as Reile clung to him, seeking solace and forgiveness. He stood there, his gaze distant and uninterested, unable to fully engage with her vulnerabilities. The connection they once shared had been fractured, and it seemed irreparable. Sensing the disconnection, Reile reluctantly peeled herself away from his embrace, her tears falling silently onto her own hands. She wiped them away, trying to gather her composure in the face of Ruben’s indifference. Her heart ached, knowing that their love had been lost and shattered.

Reed remains silent, processing everything. “I am sorry,” April apologizes, not meeting his eyes. “It's ok,” Reed accepts her apology. April smiles brightly after hearing that. “I was in a bad state after we broke up. But I am fine. I have Kiara now,” he says with a smile, and I blush.

My heart shattered into a million pieces. What happened that night was just a small part of the numerous things I suffered during the course of my relationship with him. Breaking up with him had been the second happiest moment of my life. And now he was back, claiming that he couldn’t live without me—after doing so for over a year.

"But I understand now. It was just dependency. I lost my parents and felt unsafe, so I became overly reliant on you. That's all it was." I heard his breathing grow heavier on the other end. I kept my tone serious and firm. "So I'm apologizing again. "Please stop saying things like that. I'll repay what I owe you over time. And I'll do what you asked. I'll stay away from you. I won't bother you again." Silence filled the line, broken only by our breathing. Then Dante hung up first. The line went dead. I let out a breath of relief, thinking that was the end of it.
