"Well, sometimes I watch T.V. I like, well, love to read. So I do that a lot when I'm alone." "Like what? Romance, crime thrillers?" I shrugged. "Sometimes. I really like the classics. Jane Austen, the Bronte sisters, George Elliot (who was a woman, by the way). I also like the Russians, like Tolstoy and Dostoevsky. 'War and Peace' is amazing." "You've read 'War and Peace'?" "Yeah, twice. It's excellent." I cocked my head. "How about you, what do you like to read?"

I reply, looking over the shelves to the right of me. The guy is quiet for a minute while he considers what I said. He then leads me over to a table with books erratically stacked on top of it. “These are the clearance books. I run a buy one get one on this table. I would recommend getting two that speak to you. Maybe a couple of different genres,” he advises.

I ask him. “Well, I have not read the Twisted series, I heard it was really good book to read, that was why I recommended it to you. I can read the books with you, is that cool?” he asks me. The books on the shelf were neatly arranged but the frayed edges and the little tears on the bottom of most of the books gave out that they’d been read a couple times. Adrian didn't particularly strike me as someone who would love to read but I guess you can't always judge a person by their outward appearance. I traced my fingers along the spines, the titles ranging widely from classic literature, to mindset guides then to business strategy books.
