I can’t make out her face due to the way the light outlines her which makes her appear ghostly—faceless. And I’ve been in the dark for so long, my eyes can’t keep up. I squint, trying to observe who it is clearly. She takes a few more steps closer to me. Then she stops just a few feet away from me. Slowly, deliberately, her hands rise and grip the edges of the hood. I hold my breath as she pulls it back in a single motion, revealing her face. Sharp cheekbones. Piercing eyes. Regal. Cold.
