One of the arrows grazed my arm, and I grabbed it, examining the wood. There was no silver at the tip, but the wood itself was the issue. It was made of Rowan wood. The one wood that could negate magic. They had come prepared indeed. I heard a scream, and turned just in time to see Saoirse collapse, an arrow sticking through her side. "Get her to the doctor," I ordered the man beside me as the Red Moon wolves howled in excitement, and they all surged forward. Now that the hail of arrows had finally stopped, my warriors tossed their shields aside, preparing to shift.

She was clutching her chest and my eyes widened at the arrow protruding from it before dissolving into nothing. She looks at me with her wide green eyes before she screams in agony. I kneeled down next to her asking, “What is it? What happened to you?”

Nova's Pov I turned back to see Hayden holding a silver arrow. It was shot at him by one of the rogue members who was after us. We were outside the gate. In a twinkle of an eye, Hayden turned throwing the arrow back at the shooter and it pierced through his neck. Hayden smirked before facing me. "Let's leave," He said speeding. I did the same speeding to him, I caught up with them instantly. We sped to a far distance, totally away from the rogues. We stopped at an inn to get tea.

Before I could react, I was pushed violently to the ground. I made a sharp turn and saw a man. He had the same features as the woman, but his eyes were a bright red. She held a bow and an arrow, which he aimed at my head. The tip of the arrow seemed to be laced with some kind of magic, as it glowed a bright blue. As the arrow escaped the bow, it landed directly into my shoulders before I could react. I let out a cry of pain and grabbed the arrow, in an attempt to pull it out, but the immense pain stopped me pulling it out any further.

Just as I was about to lean down to help her, another arrow whizzed through the air and would surely have struck me in the head if it wasn't for Aiden darting towards me and grabbing the weapon in mid air. He snapped the arrow in two, his eyes blazing in hot fury. The hunters and rogues are working together with Zelda, his voice filters into my head and I follow his gaze to where a group had emerged, dressed completely in black, their faces hidden behind a black mask, armed with knives, bows and arrows. They all stepped forward in one straight line, took aim and shot, the air suddenly filled with flying arrows all aiming straight for us. One flick of my hand and an invisible shield erected,

Hood bent slowly, hands shaking as he picked up the fallen bow and arrow. The silence around us was deafening now. Even the battlefield beyond seemed to quiet, watching this cruel moment unfold. He positioned the arrow, drew it back with trembling fingers, and aimed right at Kael. Right where I stood, in front of him. I didn’t move. I just looked at Hood, my eyes wide but steady. I didn’t judge him. I didn’t hate him. I knew what it meant to love someone so deeply, to ache at the thought of losing them.

He armed his bow and aimed long and carefully up at the platform before releasing it. Rowan never saw it coming. She was lucky enough to shift her position after firing once again as the incoming arrow caught hold of her gray, silk hood, pinning her against the wall. Rowan suddenly dropped her bow and choked as her hood tugged hard against her throat. Realizing what had just happened, she stared in bewilderment at the arrow that missed her by mere inches.
